What kind of settings are you using? I found the 5:25 to be geared way hotter than the full size MkV. On the full size I had the gain around 2:00, on the 5:25 around 11 for similar feel.

Great info! This is my first EL84 amp, knowing they are compressed/dark by nature helps me dial it in using my 6L6 MkV settings as a base. The MkIV Tight Rhythm setting with the gain at just 11:00 is my new go to! Much less gain and bass than I am used to dialing in, but sounds equivalent.

Agree on reseating the power tubes, I took off the cage and reseated mine before even powering up the first time. Preamp tubes are probably OK since there is so much pressure on them.
