Flux five for good Mark IV tones?

Hmm, I know the grid slammer was designed like that, but since they made a flux five with the EQ I thought it would be designed to get that mark series sound happening. Tonally it's close but it's just not the same

Flux five for good Mark IV tones?

Hi, I have a Mark V 25 and love it, generally live in either Mark IV or Extreme mode with the gain about halfway up, like the 'Mark IV huge crunch' setting in the manual. To cut some weight for rehearsals I picked up a used Flux Five, but I can't seem to get anywhere near the level of...

Need to build a snake for a pedal board

I just got 3 individual cables plus my footswitch cable and wrapped them with this: http://www.amazon.com/Radio-Shack-Spiral-Cable-Wrap/dp/B001195SOC Using a real snake might cut a little weight but this would avoid any ground loop issues, be easy to repair and it's a little cheaper. You can...

    Mark 5:25 noise issues.

Oh and this: 'when I turn it up with no guitar plugged in' don't do that :) Never run a tube amp with guitar or speaker unplugged, all bets are off then, it's damaging too

    Mark 5:25 noise issues.

What kind of settings are you using? I found the 5:25 to be geared way hotter than the full size MkV. On the full size I had the gain around 2:00, on the 5:25 around 11 for similar feel.

JP's demo MkV 25 settings in amplitudes for real?

Hi, saw in the amplitudes mail Boogie just sent the included Petrucci's settings from that amazing demo...

    wah wahs

I have the Dunlop 535Q. It's great, has adjustable ranges, I have it set low like Cantrell with a very narrow Q. It is a little heavy so I don't bring it out much unfortunately.

    detuning pedals...

I'm using the pitch glide effect on a Line6 M9 in the loop of a Mk V as a detune. It works well even getting the overdriven signal from the preamp. It tracks well down low, some latency up high so I just turn it off and transpose. Simple and cheap since I already had the M9 for delays and other...

    The new Mark VI

Channel cloning for CH 2 and 3, I like the Focused/Thick/Modern rename idea, cabclone and rackmount. That said the Mini MkV is my perfect amp, I don't even miss CH2.

Got my studio slips cover for the Mark V 25!

As specced it was about $150. The base is just under $100 but I plan to carry it walking 1-2 miles with guitar and pedalboard so opted for extra straps and padding. I thought of going with rolling luggage too but figure the cost of repairing just one snapped knob or switch will be higher, I...

Got my studio slips cover for the Mark V 25!

Just wanted to share some pics of the awesome new cover I got for my Mark V 25! The stock slip cover is very nice but I was nervous carrying it around and putting it down on NYC streets with the reverb tank out there. I considered going with an ATA case but that brings the weight up so much I...

Moving from 90w MkV to 25w mini

Great info! This is my first EL84 amp, knowing they are compressed/dark by nature helps me dial it in using my 6L6 MkV settings as a base. The MkIV Tight Rhythm setting with the gain at just 11:00 is my new go to! Much less gain and bass than I am used to dialing in, but sounds equivalent.

Moving from 90w MkV to 25w mini

Hi, proud owner of the new Mini Mark V. I've been playing the full size 90w Mark V for a few years and love it, but in it's ATA case it's 70 lbs and was killing me. The mini has every feature I needed on the full size, I feel like I couldn't get a more perfect amp if I had one custom built...

Mini Mark V Sudden Volume Drop

Agree on reseating the power tubes, I took off the cage and reseated mine before even powering up the first time. Preamp tubes are probably OK since there is so much pressure on them.

Loose reverb tank screws - thread lock?

Hi, yes they do screw into a metal thread. I only move it about once a week, but somehow they have worked themselves loose 3x in the last yr, and it's a huge PITA to pull all the power tubes so I can reach and screw them back in. I'm just surprised more haven't been reporting this small...

Foot Controller on or off your board

Nice to hear, I'm planning to do the same with the m9! I currently have it on the board but it is bulky.

Loose reverb tank screws - thread lock?

Hi, my reverb tank screws keep wiggling loose. Wondering if anyone has tried putting blue thread lock on there to keep them in place? Or maybe even simply taking the tank out? I don't really use it.

Need cheap case for Mark V head

I was in the same boat, transporting the head myself looking for a cheap case. I did end up getting a live in ATA case from safecases.com and it is awesome. I also considered: * A used pelican case (~$150) check dimensions on their site I forget the model * The gator amp case: ($170)...

    Pedal Tuner Help

I had same with polytune and a tremolo on a one spot. I think the tremolo dips the voltage just enough to make it an issue for the polytune. Not noticeable when I'm playing, and goes away on battery so I just use a battery on gigs and the mute switch at practice. Might also be cured with a...

    Tremoverb - Line6 M9 in loop issue

Thanks, but I won't be able to mod the amp, it belongs to the rehearsal studio. I think what I'll try is running the M9 at 100% wet, then backing the mix down to about 40-50%, and making due without the pitch shifter (which I'm really just using to tune down a whole step). Or I might try...
