there's a big to-do about 60 watt v30s vs 70 watter or Chinese vs English. everything varies a little but there all basically the same from what ive heard.

I had the same worry when i used actives, but i am SO glad i went to passives way better feel and response.

I don't think there's anything wrong with liking an effect if it works for you and you don't like the sound of your amp dry then go for it. I don't really like my amp dry either.
