So it had a faulty voltage regulator and a bad tube. Mesa did not cover for the tubes (4 JJ's) of course. Now all is fine and it's good to be back in full swing again.

Likely pentode and triode modes, although the owner's manual does not mention it. The 25 watt setting really works well for bedroom use. It actually behaves like a 25w amp.

I would email Mesa and tell them what's wrong. They are pretty good with support.

I had the same issue with mine. I replaced the quartet of power tubes. That fixed it for me.

Welp it turns out the icepick highs were due to the pick I was using! All is well after all. At home, I like to use it on the low power setting, it's warmer that way. What a great amp!

No experience with your 2 listed. What about the Fillmore 75? I have one in my rectoverb 25 and it is fab. I understand they aren't making them anymore, but I believe Mesa still has some units in stock. I also gleaned that the Eminence CV-75 is the same speaker.

I just ordered a 100 head from Supersonic Music. I have a Lonestar 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion Neos. I could not audition one in person. I will report back after some QT with it.
