    First Mesa DC10

I just traded for my first DC-10 and it's like the above......You need to experiment, but you can get all kinds of tones. Start with gain 8,treble 4,mids 0,bass 4 and pres 0. Then make the ram horns with the GEQ and you have metallica. Do the V on the GEG and you get close to a rectifier sound...

James Hetfield's Mark II C+ "Crunch Berries"

I just dialed in those settings on my DC -10!!! Pretty cool. It's amazing how the EQ can change the distortion. I believe the DC and Mark are similar and it has more than enough gain for metal. Just remember Mesa gain is not super saturated.

Mark III power / headroom loss... (problem solved)

Same thing happened to my DC-10....changed the PI tube and it was back.

old or new boogies: witch iz betta'?

I have had a bit of each..Bottle rocket,V-Twin,Subway Rocket,5:25 and now the DC-10. I have to say that I agree with the above too. I think the older Boogies just have that magic while the newer models sound a bit sterile. Anyway if you can find an older Mesa for a good price try it!!!

    Ridiculous how good it is!

Well Ed you converted me!!! I felt the same way when I powered up the DC-10 for the 1st time. The DC's have that mojo that the new Boogies don't seem to have. I liked the 5:25,but it's not as good as the DC. I also like how you can change the tubes to fine tune your sound for each channel. I...

Thoughts of which 112 cab with a DC5?

How is the Super V speaker with the DC.

Mesa's take on the Dual Caliber series

I have to totally agree with Edward. I just bought his DC-10 and it's easily the best Mesa I have owned....I was worried when i traded my Express for his DC-10,but he was right on.The GEQ makes a huge difference. I play Metal,Rock,Blues,Jazz,Fusion and Country and it can do them all. The clean...

What differs each C/DC model from eachother? - CHIME IN!

DC-10 Rocks.....love mine. Tubes and wattage differentiate the DC's and C's. The DC-10 head is my favorite Mesa.

Subway Rocket 44 combo fair trade with DC-5 combo?

Nooooo!!!! Don't do it. I had a Subway Rocket as well and it did not sound as good as my DC-10. No comparison. Keep the DC or go with an Express. I think the Rocket is my least favorite. I have also had the Subway Blues, which was awesome, and also an Express. Can't beat the DC though. You may...

    Good seller alert!!

I just traded my Express for a DC-10 head with a board member and agree with a previous post. The DC sounds awesome!!!! Really versatile with sweet cleans. The EQ is the key. My Express' contour knob was nothing compared to the DC's EQ. It can get really heavy too.

Fs: rackmount recto $750 quad pre $350

Western Union=watch out!!!! If it looks too good to be true it usually is. See the Mark IV sticky.

    New DC owner

I'm a new DC owner too! Just traded my Express for a cool DC-10 Head(Thanks to Edward!) here on the Boogie Board. Definitely worth it. Very versatile and the EQ and presence controls really give you a wide range of tones. Sounds great with my Boogie widebody 1x12 from another Boogie Boarder.

Thanks I already pulled the trigger on the DC. Looking forward to the 6l6's.

Difference between Mark IV and a Dual Caliber?

I believe the Mark shares it's EQ on one of the channels.

    Fave Replacement Speaker DC-3

Guitar Wharehouse Retro 75....Deeper,tighter bass and more high's than a V30. Great price too. Worth a try at a fraction of the cost.

Thoughts of which 112 cab with a DC5?

I just picked up a 1x12 open back widebody from a fellow "Boarder" last week and dropped a Guitar Wharehouse Retro 30 in it and it sounded fantastic....almost 3d. The cabinet really spreads the sound out. The speaker itself has tighter and deeper low end as well as more high's than a v30, which...

    ElectraDyne in action - video!

The Mira sounds alot better than the EBMM...I had a Morse Model and It just did not mesh with my Subway Rocket...the pickups were too dark and didn't let the Mesa breathe. I noticed the same thing with the ED....Great song, great playing.

    1x12 Replacement Cab for my 1x10 5.25?

Someone on the board has a Lonestar empty amp cab for sale . It's white and would look cool with the express in it. Just check with Mesa to see if it's possible.
