I bought a use Lonestar Special a few years back. I'd suggest getting the original receipt to show proof of purchase date as Mesa will warranty up to 5 years from date of purchase with the receipt. I ended up needing work on mine 3xs. But that's the Special not the Classic.

Mesa told me to take the 2 inner el84s and exchange them with the 2 outer el84s, I think there's info in the owner's manual saying the same thing? Not the pre amp tubes they inferred leaving those be unless a problem developed

I'd suggest you go to the g-system forum and search Lonestar Special there's info there on this issue. For sure get Laird Williams White Paper which is extensive when it comes to the g system especially setting up levels to maximize tone. I have my settings pretty much with the setting Laird...
