    Dual Rec - 6L6 or EL34 or KT77...?

AMEN! I couldn't have said it any better! 6L6's sound great in the bedroom but, lose it in the bandroom.

    Dual Rec - 6L6 or EL34 or KT77...?

I agree...JJ E34Ls are my favorite. No one ever seems to give JJ's much love and, I don't know why. Most balanced tubes IMHO...6L6's to me tend to get too scooped. They get lost in the mix it and the cleans are too brittle...no fatness.

    Effects Chain... PEDAL ORDER.

So, specifically will his MXR phaser and flanger work in the loop? I have an MXR Phase 90 and it sounds terrible to the point about unuseable in the loop but sounds fine out front. Don't know about an EVH phaser but I have to imagine its pretty much the same. Don't know anything about the MXR...

    Effects Chain... PEDAL ORDER.

Off the top of my head I cannot imagine any scenario where those two effects will work through a parallel loop. I'm not sure what you mean by "bleeding through"...I'm guessing maybe your saying that if they are bypassed or not turned on they will not effect your sound. Which of course is true...

    Effects Chain... PEDAL ORDER.

You might have problems running the Phaser and Flanger in the loop if your loop is parallel. Might have to put those in front...somewhere behind the Wah, Compressor , OD and tuner.

    DR problems

When I first bought my DR stock I had the exact same issue. Sounded great when standing beside it but, stand in front of it and the high mids cut your head off. Micing it was a nightmare too. I would have to use noise cancelling isolation head phones with my personal monitoring system to...

    Let's see your pedal boards!

I think any digital delay like a BOSS DD-3 or DD-7 would be more what your looking for. I have both digital and analog delays on my pedal board. I find Analog delay works best when its set to more of a reverby vibe. I use mine for country and light rock.

    Mark V noob...solo boost question.

I can't speak for the Mark V. But, this is exactly the case with my DR. Engaging the solo boost does add a lot of "grit and sharpness". It might be pushing the tubes a bit more or it might be a feature of the amp as it does add a bit more high mids. The result, at least from my perspective...

    Mark V noob...solo boost question.

Hi all, noob question about the Mark V. I've been a Dual Rectifier Solo head owner for about five or six years now. I really like the versitility of this amp and after a lot of experimentation with different tubes and different EQ's and effects I finally like the tone. However, I'm still...

    Troubles with DR solo head.

Did you check the cable??? One time I paniced and started pulling my amp apart because I could get my effects loop to work. Turns out the quarter in running out of the send was bad. Most of the times it's the simple things.

3 ch Dual Recto Footswitch Question

I had a five button "Bigfoot" footswich go bad on me once. If you having one the same problems I had it's more than likely a switch going bad. If you're good with a sodering iron you can replace it yourself. Call Mesa and order a replacement switch for cheap. That's what I did...way less...

    Popping sound when switching channels

Always pop it during sound check...one and done the first time I power up the amp. I use all three channels during a show and there's no noise after the first pop.

    Popping sound when switching channels

Mine does it the first time I power up and switch to channel 2. I kind of like it...I consider it announcing my presence with athority!

What do you look for in a lead tone?

Like the others...smooth. Lots of responsiveness, lots of saturation, lots of overtones and harmonics. I like it warm but not scooped. Some compression with a good helping of delay...and oh yeah, sustain for days
