My dual rectifier has been working fine and the tubes are fairly new- and tonight, in the studio, it blew four fuses. Each time, it would stay on for a few minutes and I could play out of it- but it would blow. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I really don't think its the tubes, I got...

I always power straight off, and I don't have any popping noise- just a wierd whistling. I do all the repair work though on my amp, so I'm anal about discharging the caps.

I've done it before on my Dual Rectifier. It doesn't effect the tone at all, but you won't be able to switch the effects loop on or off with the included footswitch. The mod involves some rewiring on the MIX pot. Super easy. But definately get the schematic from mesa first.

Nice. Let us know how you make out. I had similar problems when I first bought my shure wireless. Turns out it was both the batteries AND the level setting. Hopefully everything works out easily.

Are you using fresh batteries?

I use it a lot when I'm messing around at home, but I find the volume difference is a pain to setup in a band situation, even on both channels. Same thing with the vintage mode. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

Interesting. I don't really want to have a bias pot installed, but I do like the idea of getting cooler graded 6L6's and running them in the EL34 mode. When he says "cooler graded," what exactly does that mean?

A little update on this- I pulled a rectifier tube when I pulled two power tubes. I just tried using the tube rectifer tonight, instead of the diodes- and the amp made this dying sound (like it was just put on standby). Is it possibly I still need both rectifuer tubes in there?>

How did you blow your rectifier tubes? You shuold pull either the two outer power tubes, or the two inner; when this is done- the ohm jacks on the back of your head double. So your 16ohm output is a 32, your 8ohm jack is a 16, and the 4ohm jack is a 8ohm jack. If you're running an 8ohm...

I just want to side with screaming daisy here, I've got a mes dual rectifier (3 channel) and my DD-20, DL-4 and about 4 other effects work perfectly fine in the effects loop. My loop is modded series, but that doesn't change the impedance; I run my DD-20 in +4db mode, and it doesn't distort at all.
