How many guitars are a "collection"

Anything you don't play weekly is not being used, six or more of those becomes a collection.

2 amps into 2 cabs in "stereo"

That makes a lot of sense. I like to put the cabs on the side, pointed at the middle of the stage, but that won't work for the places that don't have a PA. Any time you run a closed back cab, a PA really becomes a necessity due to the way the cabs project sound.

    market price for used roadster

I paid $1500 for mine on eBay. It ended up having a bad power tube but that was never mentioned by the seller, it was described as mint.

Who has multiple rectifiers and why?

I've had a single for years and bought a Roadster a few months ago. I've been planning on selling my Marshall TSL 60 and keeping the single as a backup but there hasn't been a ton of interest in the TSL. I may end up keeping that for a backup and selling the single.

Mesa Boogie Roadster no distortion, no reverb, low volume?

My first guess would be a preamp tube. If there was no change at all to the clean channels, it was likely V3. V2 is also a possibility but I would have expected it to have some effect on the clean channel as well.

Accutronics tank reverb model for Roadster

Given the description on that link, I would think that it would be usable, though it may have some noise. I would think that you would be able to convert it to the "A" type without too much difficulty.

    RK2 or RA-100

The Road King is going to be more versatile, and should be able to cover everything you are looking for.

    jazz guitarists using rectos

Two clean channels with a total of four modes. You can get some amazing tones out of the Roadster's clean channels.

Roadster "issues" gone in Road King???

I do the same thing and never have a problem. I hit all the buttons three or four times each on standby and it's fine

Stupid Question: Inspiration for Vintage Mode?

I actually prefer the "raw" mode for a lot of the low-moderate gain stuff. It just goes to show how versatile these amps really are.

Surprise - a noob with a Roadster and tone questions

I tried swapping some tubes around in mine but came back to the Mesa branded Chinese tubes in the cathode follower positions with Mesa Russians in the other positions. It did not like the Russians in the follower positions, huge drop in volume with the Russians there. With those tubes I have no...

    Tube Rectifier Vs. Silicone Diode

I agree, that's why I use the tubes on all of my channels. I don't really need it to be that tight.

Surprise - a noob with a Roadster and tone questions

I have my channel three knobs set at 11 - 11 - 12 - 1 - 3 - 2 (o'clock), spongy, 50 watt, Raw and it works pretty well for that kind of "hot marshall" type tones. I use the second channel for brighter/lighter gain on the Brit setting with the gain turned way up. That one is more like...

MKV and RA100 owner considering getting a DR Roadser

Congrats on the order, hope you end up liking the Roadster as much as I do. I've never owned an amp this versatile before and it has made things so much easier for me. I barely have to use pedals anymore thanks to the Roadster.

    Road cases for sale

I wish I had some spare cash for that roadster case, but I just spent it all on the roadster. Sad thing is, I even live in Harrisburg.

    Considering some alternate 12ax7 tubes...

My Roadster is really picky about what goes into V3 and V5, it did not like my old Sovteks or the EH.

Matching power tubes. Matching quads or 2 x matched pairs?

The diagram in the owner's manual shows that the inner tubes need to be a matched pair and the outer tubes need to be a matched pair. That strongly implies that you do not need a matched quad.

think about EL34 for my Roadster...

I've long been a fan of EL34s in a recto series amp. They alter the tone enough that makes it a little less identifiable as a recto. For some that it an advantage, for others it isn't. I just got a roadster and it's only a matter of time before I do it on this one as well.

    Joined the party today

I just played one the other day and I've already put my Marshall TSL on the market. I could even see my Single Rectifier becoming a backup if I can score this Deuce.

    KT66 in recto?

Does anyone make a recto compatible KT66? If you have used them, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
