Two different amps at the same price: TC100 vs Mark VII

I'm fortunate enough to own both amps. My current setup is two-sided. On the left is the Mark VII head with a Mark V:90 combo and the Head-Track, sharing the combo speaker and a Mesa 1x12 ported C90 cab, with my time-based effects on that side. On the right is the TC-100 head and a Fillmore 50...

    New TC-100

I have much the same setup these days, though instead of the Mark V:25, I have the Mark V:35, with the Mark V:90 and a TC-100 that I got about 6 months ago. I use the 90 for my time-based pedals (Eventide Factors) and run the others straight. I picked up a Head-Track that I'll use for the TC-100...

    Tone Differences between Mark V, 25, 35

I got a 2-year old gently used 90 watt combo four years ago. I've had a Mark I/60/100/EQ since roughly 1975, brand new at the time. The combos are quite hefty in every sense of the word, but the tone... Three years ago, I also picked up the 25. The day after I ordered it, they announced the 35...

First time Boogie owner. Mark V 35 Combo

I use the 35 head with one or two Mesa 1x12 ported closed back cabs. Or with my 50-year old Marshall cab with those old 25-watt greenbacks. Using Eventide pedals in the loop, either a combination of Pitchfactor, ModFactor and TimeFactor or a couple of H9 Max pedals. Incredibly versatile amp that...

    Mark V footswitch connector issue

I just loop it through the handle so it's coming in from above, rather than below. Works flawlessly for me in every situation. I use that in both the 90 and 35 watt versions.

Newb question on footswitchable effects loop

The 25 and 35 don't have the switchable effects loop that the 90 has. If you get into the JP-2C, the new TC-50 and TC-100, those all have midi switching capabilities that include channel, loop, reverb, solo control. I have both the 90 and 35, and I keep the loops active all the time...

Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

Thanks!! Glad they work. I find the same thing at really early hours of the morning - or what we call peak evening hours!! I'm usually using the 10-watt setting at home, but it works in louder circumstances at 45 and 90 watts, and I also adjust the gain in the same way. It's an incredibly...

Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

I know what you mean about too much going on. ****... I should mention that the EQ settings are those fractions up from the center point, rather than the bottom. Nothing in my curve dips below 0. There are times when I might change over from sliders to preset at around 1:00 for a still slightly...

Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

Extreme mode. T-1:00 M-9:30 B-12:30 P-11:30. I'll run the Gain at around 10:30 or 11:00, with the Master at around 9:30, all in 90-watt, or if that's too much, 45-watt pentode. If I bring in the GEQ, it's a modified V, with 80Hz about 3/4 of the way up, 240Hz around 3/8 up, 750Hz flat, 2200Hz...

Anyone use Channel 3 for low to medium gain?

I generally use Extreme mode with no GEQ for that purpose. Bright switch on or off, depending on the room. I use the Mark I mode for heavier gain and for most of my leads, and I'll bring up the gain on Extreme mode to get a really nice Clapton live Cream sort of tone. For gigging, I'll use all...

    Mark V 90w vs. Mark V 35

I have both a 90 combo and a 35 head. I'm using an additional Mesa 1x12 V30 ported cab on the 90 and 2 Mesa 1x12 C90 ported cabs with the 35. My usual modes on the 90 are Fat/Mark I/Extreme, with Fat/Extreme on the 35 if using it alone, but I'll mix those up when using both amps together. I keep...

    Mark I Mode

I also use Mark I mode as my primary lead mode. At home, running 10 watts, it's pretty cool, but in a band setting at 90 watts, it's pretty spectacular. I run the gain at around 2:00 or 3:00, treble and presence around 3:00, bass and mids around 9:00. The GEQ is sliders, set in a modified V...

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

BluzCruz, like you, I'm a hyphenated-rock, rather than a metal player. I have the V combo and the V:35 head. Love 'em both. They're just different enough with the different power tubes and they play well together. Here's the thing on the 90. When I gig, I use all 3 channels (Fat w/contour-Mark I...

mark v doesn't like new les paul (classic 57+)

I found my Mark V didn't like the Classic 57+ in the bridge of my 2007 SG3. It was OK with my old Nomad 55, but complete ice pick with the V. I replace the pickups with DiMarzios, a Tone Zone in the bridge, Norton in the middle and Air Norton in the bridge, all wired to switch from series HB to...

Do you guys own more than one Mark V?

I have the opposite of Michael's. A Mark V combo (with a 1-12 widebody closed back extension) and a Mark Five:35 head with a couple of the aforementioned widebody closed back cabs. Two really great amps, and they sound huge when I run them together, either clean or dirty. The 35 also sounds...

Multi Effects or Recommended Pedals into loop of Mark V 35

I'm using Eventides in the loop - PitchFactor->ModFactor->TimeFactor. They sound great and there's absolutely no difference in the tone, whether I have them in or just choose to go straight amp. Same in the 90 watt combo. Best effects loops I've ever used, just completely transparent.

    Mark V:25 vs Mark V:35

I bought a 25 the day before MB announced the 35 so I was able to play the 25, send it back and get the 35 head. I like the additional headroom on the clean channel, and the 35 is a bit punchier. Both are incredible amps. I also have a 90 combo and running the two together is amazing. I use...

    Mark V or Mark V 35

I'm using both the 90 combo with an additional 1x12 widebody ported C90, and the 35 with 2 of the widebody porteds, 1xC90 and 1xV30. I also will use the 35 in my practice area with an ancient Marshall 4x12 with 47-year old Greenbacks. Love both amps, and I just picked up a Radial Twinline so I...

    Signal/Tone Suck in Effects Loop.

I run Send->ISP Decimator->Eventide pedals (PitchFactor->ModFactor->TimeFactor, all set at line level)->Nova Reverb->Return in my Mark V combo and there is absolutely no change in tone. Same with my Mark Five:35. I have the level set at the notch at noon on the combo. It's an incredibly...
