    4x12 speaker changes

the 8x10 is a 1970 so it is one of those old marshall 8 ohm cabs. i am making due with the black shadows for now, but i guess i will have to try some other speakers out. has anyone ever used warehouse speakers? i hear they are great clones of celestions.

    4x12 speaker changes

i see. thank you for the tip. right now i play the one amp through 2 cabinets. the mesa 3/4 cab as well as a marshall 8x10 with very low wattage speakers. the tone sounds so good together, but it is not practical to travel with the marshall cab. it is to big for the van and a rare piece as well.

what stripe is this mark III?

awesome thank you. i use this amp for recording and live shows. i have another mark III which is a 1988 60 watt blue stripe to the best of my knowledge. I have to tinker with it some more. it has all electro-harmonix tubes in it right now and it does not sound even close to as good as this amp...

    Mark III, mixing cabinets

i love my rig. i play the mesa red stripe mark III through both the mesa 4x12 w/ black shadow 90 watt speakers as well as through a marshall 8x10 with 10 watt speakers. the mix of the cabs sounds great. both cabs are 8 ohm so i run two speaker cords out of the two 4ohm jacks on the head to...

    Mark III blue/red stripe questions

I have two mark III's. one is a 1988 blue stripe 50 watt head i believe. the other is a 1986 red stripe 100 watt simul-class model i believe. i use the red stripe pretty much for everything, recording and live shows. I have no idea what the differences are other than the obvious ones...

    mark III through two cabs

it sounds awesome. i play 4 black shadows in the mesa and the marshall is a 1970 marshall 8x10 cabinet. I was just worried that i may have had the ohm rates set up wrong. I like the tone effect i get of the 90 watt big speakers with the 10 watt speakers. a very cool mix.

    mark III through two cabs

i want to play my mark III through my mesa cab and my marshall cab. I have a 3/4 open back mesa cab with an 8 ohm out as well as the two split 4 ohms. and the marshall is old so it has just one 8 ohm out. what would be the best way to set this up. i was confused, so i ran two cords from both...

    Mark III tube questions

I have a Mark III blue stripe 50 watt head. I bought it and it came with all electro-harmonix tubes in it, three 12ax7 pre amp and two 6l6 power tubes. It sounds mushy and i have heard that this is because they are not pre-biased tubes like mesa makes for it's own amps. I have a matched pair...

    Red Stripe Mark iii

I use two str440 6l6's as well as two str440 EL34's. It sounds great, big warm low end and crisp cleans. I just bought a set of new tubes and i think they are like str447 instead of str440. hope this doesn't make too much of a difference because i really like the sound i get with what is in...
