Unwanted feedback coming from my Recto

The Recto I currently own is pre-owned, that's why I'm skeptical about how the amp sounds to my ears.

Unwanted feedback coming from my Recto

I recently tuned my guitar back up to C Standard tuning, to cover some Akercocke songs, and I experienced the same result. Also my brother played my amp last night, and he's a good guitarist and even he said the amp blows, so inexperience doesn't fully contribute to the cause of the problem, I...

Unwanted feedback coming from my Recto

I'm not creating these posts as a way of getting attention, I'm really conceived that there actually is something wrong with my amp, It seems that no matter how loud I crank the volume up on the amp, it still sounds muddy sounding, regardless of where the EQ settings have been adjusted, even...

Unwanted feedback coming from my Recto

Right I'll try standing further away from my amp, hopefully that will solve the problem. Also I found that on my recto, the channel 2 modern mode is louder in volume than channel 3 modern mode on the amp?

    Drop A tuning string gauge

Thank you guys for all your advice/suggestions on the matter, I was thinking that maybe it would be more practical to buy a seven string guitar, for handling this type of tuning.

    Recto gain saturation

Of course my questions are genuine, if they weren't I wouldn't be on the Mesa Forum in the first place, also I paid a lot of money for this amp, so I expect it to perform well, If I wanted another a solid state I would have bought one.

    Break in the speakers

How do you know when the sounds of your speakers have broken in?
  13. B

    Recto gain saturation

Maybe it could be the pickups I'm using? Also one things that shocks me is that there's people out there that claim that you can get different tones out of your Recto, how are you supposed different tones out of your Recto I'e which knobs change the tone of your sound?

    Drop A tuning string gauge

My floyd rose isn't blocked and this I believe is my second time putting new strings on my guitar, but just out of curiosity is there any chance I could risk damaging my neck tuning this low. I'e is there a chance I could warp my neck in the process?

Turning down the presence knob to zero on a Recto

Well for metal would having the presence knob set to 12 O'clock on the amp, not suck out some of the low end coming from the amp?

    Drop A tuning string gauge

I was just wondering how heavy does the string gauge need to be, for drop A tuning, because I'm currently using 10-54 size strings on my floyd rose six string guitar tuned to this tuning, but the strings seem to feel to loose for playing in this tuning.

EMG 85 pickups in the bridge for metal?

Yes to my ears the Duncan Designed pickups sound bad, But I was just wondering is there any high output passive pickup on the market, that would be worth purchasing. Also I was told by many people on the net, that Active pickup will always sound hotter than passive one is that true?

    Recto gain saturation

The guitar I'm currently using is a schecter C1 Plus FR guitar, it has a mahogany wood body guitar, with Duncan Designed active pickups inserted in the guitars neck and bridge pickups, which in there own right are not ideal sounding pickups. Also I know that people are still wondering why I...
