Express 5:50 or Lonestar Classic for gigging in a cover band

Thanks for the input, appreciate it... It seems right now that used LSC are going for the same price as a new Express, so price for me isn't really a factor, however the new LSC being able to go down to 10 watts seems like a cool option :?

Express 5:50 or Lonestar Classic for gigging in a cover band

Hello all, I'm in the market for a new amp and am considering strongly either an Express 550 or LSC. I am a gigging musician playing once a week in a 70's-80's classic rock/southern rock/ dance band. I need a fairly versatile beast (clean, slightly broken up, overdriven, crunchy) that can be...

Major Difference between Nomad 55 and 45?

Thanks for the help... I know the ideal situation would be to test these two side by side. However, I live in the middle of nowhere and there are no Nomad 45's sitting around to test drive. I was drawn to this amp because of the versatility. I play in a cover band that does everything from new...

Major Difference between Nomad 55 and 45?

Hey all, I stumbled across a Nomad 55 for sale at a local music store. really loved it. Did some research and learned of the el84 loaded 45... Question is, since a/b ing these two side by side will be impossible, i'm wondering if there is a huge difference in tone? I really don't care about...

    Lone Star Special Lead Tones...Suggestions??

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. Bluebones, I'm using a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Gibson SG standard. I'm finding exactly what you said, you have to REALLY crank this amp. When I first got it, I was under the impression . being such a low wattage potential, I would be able to do...

Overdrive pedals and the Lone Star...

I also am using the Jekyll & Hyde ultimate overdrive. Normally I just use channel 2's gain, which is why I bought the amp , so as not to rely on pedals for my dirt sound, I mainly kick it in for lead stuff / solos for added sustain and another tone. I've been running mine through the effects...

    Lone Star Special Lead Tones...Suggestions??

That's exactly what I'm using right now... Before I got the LSS , I was gigging with Fender Deville using the "Jekyll" as my overdrive sound and punching the "Hyde" for leads/ solos... But the tone and color of the pedal has changed greatly with this amp. What are your setting with your LSS?

    Lone Star Special Lead Tones...Suggestions??

I'm new to the forum and purchased my first Mesa, a LSS 1x12. While I love the versatility of this amp and wide range of tones, I'm just not getting the sustain for leads. I don't know if a tubescreamer, microamp, eq pedal might work. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been...
