Been quite some time since I've logged in and posted on this forum. Interesting thread. Been some time since I've seen my MKIII (currently in storage far away in the States), yet her serial number is 16861, and she is most definately an '86 blue stripe (from the factory). Doesn't appear to fit...

With all this MkIII love I guess I'll have to jump into the whirlpool. Yes, yes, and an absolute resounding yes, to everything said in the past, present, and future about the greatness of the almighty MkIII! Yup, one VERY happy blue-stripe owner here.

Imbuya! Yummy! Hmmmm, I'd like a dovetailed imbuya and wicker 4x12 bottom, loaded with greenbacks, casters, inset metal side handles, and the little "boogie" badge placed right in the middle!

MkIII SC Blue-stripe owner here. Mine is fully loaded (GEQ, Rev., Fan, etc.) and it must be one of the rare ones because it delivers great tone at any volume. Love it to death! Sure, pumped loud through a good 4x12 is new information, but the man won't allow me to do 150mph on the freeway...

Appears that there are many tolex MkIIIs here, but few wood & wicker. Here's my imbuya baby. Sorry for the terrible photo.

Very happy MkIII owner here. '85 or '86 (I forget) imbuya, blue stripe, simul-class, EQ, Rev., Intl. trans, and MB R2 Gain-Boost mod. Matching original imbuya 1x12 cab w/EV. Rock!

Looks very sharp! Bravo! Personally, and not that you asked my opinion, but I'd quickly remove those "boogafunk" logos. I like funk, but wouldn't necessarily want to advertise it. And as far as "boogers" go, well.....need I say more? ;)

Amount of extra gain? Very sadly, I've been sitting here in Kyoto, Japan for the last three years "ampless!" All my gear is in storage in Los Angeles, so I'm currently unable to provide any clips of the mod in action, and honestly, am a little foggy about the exact amount of extra gain...

trem and Ultron, It adds a considerable amount of gain to R2. The best thing is that it's user controlled. The desired amount of extra gain is first dialed in from the dedicated gain-boost pot on the back of the chassis, then activated manually by either the mini toggle (underside of chassis)...
