I was thinking of trying KT 66's in my CD 5 combo. I want to know before I fork out some cash online that they will fit next to each other and clear the speaker. Has anyone tried out KT 66's in their DC 5? If so how did they sound? Cheers

JJ's are the way to go. I have a set of JJ's from Bob at euro tubes. Great guy to deal with, he will help with any questions you may have. I did try his hi gain set first but found it a bit much for me so now I have a gold pin standard in V1 and a Bal 12AT7 V6 and the rest are standard 12AX7's...

Cheers I will give it a bash. I was also considering trying JJ KT 66's out in the power section. Bob from Euro Tubes said he has them suited for mesa amps with fixed bias. Any thoughts on this? Will the different tubes help with the bass response? I think they should fit.
