Which speakers are in my blue angel?

Puckboy, have you ever compared the jensens with the eminence alnicos. It's been a long time since I heard both of them side by side. I always thought the Emi's were warmer, but mine definitely don't have a ton of bottom end. Maybe the Jensens, just have an overall wider frequency response...

    Subway Blues question.

The later SB had a half power jack, that you could plug the speaker cord into. I'm not sure when they started having this feature, but I think it was at the same time that they changed from seperate Fat and Bright inputs, to a single input with a Fat/Bright switch. The tolex is also smoother on...

Does any body use a 2x12 with their BA. If so what cab and speakers are you useing. BTW I love my BA cranked with my LP Special w/ P90's through a Sparkledrive.

Apparently Mesa knew this would be a problem when they first released the Blue Angel line. The early ones had the "Sus 4" (I think that's what it's called) shock mount system for the amp chassis. You can tell the shock mounted ones, they usually have the metal back brace on the cab as opposed...

    Inputs on Vertical Recto Cab

If you daisy chain them, you should also use one of the 4 ohm jacks. The 4 ohm jacks are in parrallel.

    Maverick

I really like the 2X12 Mav with Vintage 30's, but I'm one of the many who love the distinct tone of Vintage 30's. The Mav head through the Boogie widebody 1x12 (Black shadow) is also really nice. I believe even if the Mav's are still in production, the Lone Star Special, is meant to be it's...

I haven't heard 'em, but the weber Blue Dog's get good reviews, and they are only $170. They are supposed to be his version of the ALNICO Blue Celestion.

    Inputs on Vertical Recto Cab

The parallel out is to daisy chain another cab with that one. It won't make it stereo, it just sends the same signal to another speaker. If the other cab is an 8 ohm one, your amp will "see", 4 ohms, not 16 ohms.

Using Fulldrive for Tremoverb Volume Boost

Try putting the pedal in your effects loop (set 100% wet), if you want a volume boost on the overdrive channel also. When an amp is being overdriven, if you boost the signal to the input you usually only get more overdrive, and not much volume boost. The more distortion you're getting out of...

The tech where I bought it, Mesa/Boogie Hollywood, told me it was cool, to run 6L6's. I'd heard of it before on the Gear Page, but I thought I'd ask somebody in the know, first.

    Rumors?

The tech at Mesa Hollywood told me that they are coming out with a Mark V, but he didn't say when. He also said something about the Triaxis, but I can't remember.

I use a Voodoo Labs SparkleDrive, or a Tubescreamer, and for a wall of sound kind of distortion, I use a Danelectro Fabtone. I use Mesa 6L6's, I'm not sure where they're made. Tone wise they have lot more headroom and low end tightness than 6V6's. However they don't have the beautiful top end...

I have a BA 4X10 with greenish alnico's (eminence I think). It's been the amp I most wanted to own, since they came out in the mid '90's. This last year I finally got one, in fact it was the last new one they had at the Mesa/Boogie Hollywood store. I really love it. I run 6L6's in the 6V6 spots...
