Mark II B channel switching problem

Try some deoxit on the all the pots, especially the push pull pots. If one is bad the rest will follow........

Volume Pedal in the SLAVE/LINE of original Mk1?

The volume pedal trick works with the Mark IIB thru the effects loop. This does not work after the effects loop mod is done to the Mark IIB. The slave is for driving another amp. I may be 100% wrong but as far as I know the IIB is the only Mark series amp that allows for the volume pedal trick.

    IIB Love....

My IIB is a forever amp, I use a old Rockman Midi Octupus with a self powered midi pedal to do all my switching. Works great. I've recently fallen in love with a Reinhardt Storm 33, Mid life crisis affair. The Boogie IIB has been with me for over a quarter decade. Edit: Make that a quarter...

Old Mesa STR440 6CA7 El34 for Mark IIB

That would explain the larger bottle like a 5881. I guess they go back on flea bay then. I had high hopes for awhile, but I knew it was a risk. Thanks for the help everyone :) and the heads up on the Sylvania 6CA7's they're mine now

Yup the current STR 440's are Chinese 6L6's Janarobb, can you give me a heads up on the tone of these tubes???? I contacted Boogie and they are trying to figure out what they are also. The rep said he had only heard of one other set, so he's checking. I'll let you know. Big Bottles.....Big...

too much breakup on clean channel- MarkIIb

How hard are you hitting V1?? I've found that level into V1 can make it break up faster. If you're cookin' V1 you could start turning the heat down there. On my Mark IIB it'll break up earlier with humbuckers and later with single coils, and that can change on how hot the pickups are. I...

    TAD 6L6s

This is the Jan Phillips 7581A: http://www.eifl.co.jp/index/tube/image/phi_7581a.jpg I have also have a quad of these International Servicemaster fakes. http://www.vacuumtubesinc.com/hos7581.html They came with my Superbassman years ago, they are Sovtecs rebranded as 7581a's, so be alert when...

    TAD 6L6s

I tried the TAD 6L6STR's a couple of years ago, I really liked them, but I stuck in 7581A's again. The TAD's where great though, very close to the 7581A's, I still have them and I'm thinking on buying another pair to put in my Superbassman. I still have a lifetime supply of 7581A's for my...

Advice for my new baby named Mark II

This what I use in my Mark IIB Power Tubes:JAN Philips 7581A (6L6GC) This is the mil spec version of the Philips 6L6GC. These are world class tubes, bottom line. It has double mica spacers but otherwise looks and sounds identical to the famous Sylvania 6L6GC STR. The Sylvania 6L6GC STR is the...

Volume drop w/ effects in FX loop and Transformer Hum

Sounds like it could be an impedance mismatch between the output of your processing gear and the input of the boogie. Another thing to check is if you amps FX loop is parallel or series, that creates some problems too.
