I see you have owned a stiletto in the past, how would you compare it to this? My one and only complaint about the stiletto is lack of low end but I make up by putting an EQ in the loop.

Preamp is probably the same, but since it doesnt have rect tubes and half the crap duals have it will sound different because less components.

Is it a version 1 or 2? I know a lot of the punk rock guys perferred the singles because they were more of a rock amp then the duals.

Just curious if you have ever played one of the original 3 channel rectos? Some of us in the community are convince the first years of the 3 channels where a bit different and sound the best, there is no proof behind it but these are players that have many rectos or had many rectos and i am one...

Just remember youtube tones and what you get are two different things, for Modern music the Roadster wins hands down. FYI have you ever thought of going used? You could have the best of both words, a 2 channel recto which you can get used for $800 to $900, sometimes even cheaper if you wait...

Might need a bit more information, as lead is only about 5% of a song I would worry more about your rhythm tone. So give us more details of style of music, where you using an OD to boost the roadster? I get great leads with my RK with a Tube Screamer.

On my Roadking V1 Channel 3 Modern is the same as Modern on the Red channel of a 2 channel, or at least very close. The 2 channel is a bit clearer but not a huge difference.

I have said this before and I will say it again, in order to get the 3 channels to sound more like the older rev G 2 channels, you must not use modern on channel 3, use it on Channel 2 and you will get so much closer. Honestly I find more people's problem with the recto's is they can never get...

The tank for the RK1 is listed as $59 on your website, so with shipping I could see it being around 75 to $100

I have an RK1, my reverb stopped working but when it did work it was nothing like what you are saying yours sounds like, so not sure what your issue is. I think my tank went bad but honestly I never used it much so it wasnt a big deal to me.

The reverb should be better then that, sounds like your tank might be bad, best thing to do is if you have another amp or a friend with an amp with built in spring reverb is to borrow that tank to see if it works.

Standby is fine for changing tube configuration. I have had my roadking V1 for many years and still love the amp.
