Anyone using an OD with their MV?

+1. I do exaclty the same with the OCD. A fourth channel and it works well with humbuckers.

    MXR Carbon Copy

    Louder with a PSU.

    MXR Carbon Copy

I use a Carbon Copy in the loop with the V. I see a big difference in the strenth of the repeats depending if I use a battery or a Power Supply.

+1 here. This is the only reason why I keep my OCD...

Opinion on the Danelectro Cool Cat CC-1 Chorus?

I finally bought the Danelectro CC-1. Freakin incredible for the price paid! And a real true bypass! (I had to test it to believe...) I paid 40$ including shipping and taxes. The best bang for the buck I have ever seen in a pedal. And the chorus is better than the Boss CE-5 IMO.

Opinion on the Danelectro Cool Cat CC-1 Chorus?

Hi, I am after a thick lush chorus, true bypass, only for few songs in my cover band. I previously had a Boss Ce-5 but sold it because of tone degradation with my Mark V. So the true bypass option of the CC-1 is kind of tempting. But a 40$, is it credible? I mean, I am not expecting something...

    Got a Mark V head!!

Same here! I sold a recto to buy the V, never played any other Mark before. I could not be happier! I discover new sounds and textures every week! Welcome to the club my friend!

    mark v opinions

I had a single recto before, sold it to buy the Mark V. 10 times better to my taste. Besides the Petrucci tones you are looking for, there are so many other tonal possibilities. It is like endless. From jazz to blues, vintage rock, progressive to pure metal, it can do them all! Try it and...

Any suggestions for pickups with the MK V?

+1 This is what I have and it sounds very killer on the high gain channel. But it sounds very metal so it may not have the versatility you are looking.

    FX loop tone degradation

I had two boss pedals in the loop with 2 times 10feet cables. I just bought an MXR carbon copy and dropped the CE-5. There is a BIG improvement. I will left the CE-5 off the loop until I find a better replacement. So I will only use the Carbon Copy for now, which does an amazing job BTW. Any...

    FX loop tone degradation

Hi guys, need your input on something. Yesterday, while practicing with the band, I realized how much tone I was losing with my FX Loop engaged. Toggling it on/off with the MV's footswitch make me realize how serious it was, all members of the band realizing it too. Here is the chain: FX...

    petrucci and the mark v

In Montreal August 12th, they have changed the set list a little bit. They didn't played Metropolis but "As I am" and "The Dance of Eternity" instead.

Mark V just not popular with older people?

I am 32 I like this amp a lot. Probably my last one for a while. No more amp GAS. I covers so much ground that I can't see myself lurking for something else.

Continually impressed, even after a month.

Channel 1 Tweed is the coolest surprise of the amp. I had no expectation for it, but it has become one of the voicing I use the most in my cover band. I tried it with a Barber tone press and and TS9 Keeley in front and I got one of the sweetest Gilmourish lead tone I ever had. With a good...

My head is broken...IT's FINE!-nope broken even worse now...

Another disinformation subject/thread.... Let me recap what we had before.... -The V is only a Triaxis in a different chassis with a new power section. -The V can't do metal -Petrucci won't use it ...and now, the output knob stops working after a while! Just kidding... Sorry it...

    mark v durability

I think they are made of a very hard plastic material but they seem very robust to be. And the way they are placed in the chassis make them kind of protected...

OD useless with the Mark V?

Hi, I am now a proud owner of a MKV head. Before that I had a Rectifier Solo 50 so improve my leads and thighten the sound I have been using a TS9 Keeley mod and a Barber tone press in front of it, with great succes. But now that I have the MKV, I really don't see any use for these two pedals...

    petrucci and the mark v

I read that the four heads on top of the cabs are fake. It could explain the weird shape you saw on the EQ. But he is really using 2 Mark V heads in stereo hidden somewhere, with a third one as backup. Th guys who reported that on the other forum said that they saw the fake heads being removed...
