Haha yeah, kickass amp for sure :twisted: My tubes read 29 bias point and I bought them from TubeDepot. I didn't indicate anything special in the order, just added them to the cart and checked out :) Take the dive and try them ;)

To me they added punch and depth to the mids. Hit some open or power chords and they cut more, are more present and have more "texture" to them. Best of all... not expensive! $20 for the matched pair :) So you can try them out and if you don't dig them as much as the Sovteks you got a nice pair...

Can you get the sound using the preset knob? That way you can keep your EQ sliders for channel 3 and use a given preset for channel 2.

I almost forgot about this!!! Yes! I swapped my Sovtek tubes to JJ's and very much enjoy the added presence and punch they bring. The Sovtek to my ears were cutting less and the bass was muddled up. JJEL84's definitely helped 8)

Hey Adam, I asked you some questions on the MLP forum :) Thanks for the comments, it was the final push to grab one haha. Right now I have a Marshall 1936 2x12" with GT75's in it and one Egnater Rebel 112x with a Lead 80. I think I'll have to get one with a Vintage 30 in the future just...

I agree that this forum is slower than others, where it's even hard to keep the pace lol.

Not entirely, as the gain structures of both amps are different so they appeal to different people. Also, the Mini Mark would be much smaller than the Express head which is closer to the Mark V in size.

Probably... I was reading some other posts and it would make sense from a cost-perspective. It would also reduce the size and weight... -but- I wanted to see what would happen if they just shrunk the Mark V, like the 1 watt Mini Marshall heads :)

I would buy one for the gigs! Much easier to carry haha.

I would like 6V6 as well because of their relationship to 6L6's and their more tight/compact sound. For EL34 sounds I already have a Marshall hehe... but I see that Mesa has used EL84's on all their minis so who knows :lol:
