Also, make sure you have the master volume past 3. I find the higher I run mine (usually 5-6) the better it sounds. You'll have to turn the individual channels pretty low though, so you don't go deaf.

See, I tried the eurotubes 6v6s a few months back, and I really didn't like them at all. They just sounded.... off. Buzzy and weak maybe? No bottom end. I don't know if i just had my settings off or what. Several other people have suggested 6v6s too... I'm gonna try the tubescreamer first...

I use a EH holy grail in my FX loop on my mark iv. The onboard reverb just doesn't do it for me. I wanted much more of a "fender amp" reverb, and the onboard just wasn't lush enough. I'm happy with the EH.

Did you ever replace the tubes? The first thing most people suggest to do when buying a used tube amp is replacing all the tubes, and even the caps if it is more than 10-15 years old.

Yeah, i've done JJs and like them quite a bit, but they were a little dark. I'm looking for more of a warmer lighter tone. I play a fender strat, so i need fatness and warmth. Has anyone tried the new tungsol reissues?

As far as new production stuff, I usually go with JJ electronic, SED also treated me pretty well as far as 6L6 power tubes. But actually I'm in the marked for some new power tubes myself.... if anyone else has some suggestions.

Unless you really know what your doing, I wouldn't go poking around inside the amp while its on, and I'm not if it is even possible to test a single tube by itself with a multi-meter. If I suspect a tube is going bad, I replace it with a good one, and see if the problem goes away. I'm...
