hey man im realy liking those tones.. i have a 96 2 channel. are those the actual settings you use? my are identical on channel 2 except my mids are 1 o'clock. how did you have channel 1 set up? vintage crunch or clean?

i have a 96 dual recto chrome/chrome. i play everything from skynard to alter bridge to dokken. v1= sovtek lps v2= tungsol v3= chinese 9th v4= ruby AC5 HG+ v5= sovtek lps i really dont like the tone of the chinese tubes but i had volume and gain drop issues when running russian in the cathode...

anybody compare these?... i have and noticed the lps has more clairty and brighter. the tunsol seem's to have a little more saturation and some fuzz i notice while playing on the top strings. i keep a lps in v1 followed by tungsol and chinese in v3,v4. some say that phase inverter has little...

my volume dipped a little or sometimes alot depending on how long i had the amp on..tone would sound harsh and highs were cut. and gain would cut back as well. i would try the chinese to see if it makes a difference. i know it did on mine. so far i jammed for 3 hours at pracice and it held up...

what recto do you have ?..2 or 3 channel ?

hey,mansfieldguitars is it no longer a problem because they used chinese tubes now instead of russian? or was it a bad production run during 2008 when the mesa bulliten was released?..the last tubes i bought from mesa were chinese...good to hear they got the issue fixed though..

standing behing the while in standby..i hear a audiable hum coming from the amp...not the speakers.. if i switch from bold to spongy it stops,,back to bold its there again..i dont notice this on my other rectos, what about anyone else?

midsize room at bedroom level..i suspected ear fatigue as well but the amp loses feel too..like it becomes harder to play...

i have yet another issue with another of my recto's...dual channel...when first turned on it sounds crunchy with highs sounding like they are supposed to,but after a few min. of playing the amp sounds like somebody turned down the treb..and the amp sounds kinda muffled...imagine sitting in front...

who has converted their loop to series with success? how does it sound? and does this conversion bypass V4 TUBE.. and last but not least anybody have a schematic.

yea i came full circle this year too...after using dual rectifiers since 92 i thought i wanted something different..so i went through a marshall jvm 210, a splawn nitro, and a randall rm100..and im back to a 2 channel dual recto and couldnt be happier...the jvm was the worst out of the above..
