    Mark IV recording in pentode mode

    I use harmonics and have for the most part recorded in triode mode. In pentode mode, if presence is pulled, then I can record without the bass being boomy. It's when presence is pushed in it becomes too much, in triode mode it's ok. Much more balanced. Thanks for all the answers!

    Hello everyone, just recently purchased a used Mark IV. Wondering if anyone could guess what year it was made by the serial number, which is 10996. Also, when changing tubes, do I have to remove the chassis? If I need to remove the chassis, any tips for me on that? Thanks for any replies...
