I've been having some trouble with excess basson my Stiletto Deuce. Never did anything out of the usual, just all the sudden, boom! Tried two les pauls, one with stock Gibsons, one with EMG 81. Same thing. Maybe tubes problems? I have it on silicone diodes enabled if that makes a difference.

How is a tubes' hardness related to it's sound? Is the lower the number the cleaner? How does this work?

I love my Stiletto except for one problem, I can't get enough gain. I had an EMG 81 in my Les Paul Custom, but just put in a Duncan JB just because I wanted to hear the guitar itself more. Even with my EMG, I can't get enough, even with gain at 11. I can't rip off pinches at all. I've seen you...
