Would it be worth it to pay a little extra for a IV as opposed to the great deal on the Peaveys?

I'm looking for something that would do well for trash and some modern rhythm and lead tones as well as good cleans. Some tones I'm after are Testament, Metallica, Megadeth, Unearth, Nevermore, and some nice cleans would be a big plus, maybe a slight bit of a dirty clean for SRV if possible...

I saw a DC-10 for $899.99 at my local GC, Could it handle metal tones as well as nice cleans? What makes it most different from the Mark IV? Does it have all the power settings and switches as the Mark IV?
