Only three power tubes are blue

sure, but what about the heat, and the three others?
  2. E

Only three power tubes are blue

It's not a bad tube, cause I have already swapped it a few times

Only three power tubes are blue

I know blue is normal, but there's only three blue. And it's impossible to say that one is closer to the fan than another, because they're all in line. But I touched them all, and the three blue ones were hot as youknowwhat, while the last one was like the amp was on standby

Only three power tubes are blue

but my mark IV sounds pretty good lol. At least not like crap

    The Mark IV thread....!!

I think it's more pain than gain to have both EQ's on simultaniously, at least in my opinion and experience

    The Mark IV thread....!!

what? kidding.. I think. If you mean it like the way I think: On a mark IV you can disable the 5 band EQ after the preamp and use the 10 band MXR EQ in the loop instead.

Only three power tubes are blue

Ok, all of my power tubes are glowing in red, but only three of them are glowing blue. And the one that's glowing blue is not as hot as the three others. Is it supposed to be like that?

    NEW MARK 5 PIC!!!

I thought I was saving money for another Mark IV, but not it goes for the V

    4x12 out of phase?

2+ on that one. my room sucks.
  10. E

    The Mark IV thread....!!

Haha. Just to make it clear, I swapped the El34 some weeks ago, and it can't be the fan, or I have no idea why it suddenly should get this boost in volume whenever I swich to triode. Yeah, I hope it's something wrong, cause then it can be fixed. If not, it suck.

    The Mark IV thread....!!

my triode hums alot. sounds sweet and stuff, but that humming doesn't come from the speakers, it comes from the head itself. And the amp is much tighter when I use another amp's power amp. Hope the mark IV's power amp is broken.

    Regular vs Oversized Cabinets

Mark Tremonti says somewhere that he "feels" that the straight cabs are tighter. But yeah, the Standard Rectifier is uberboomy, way too much for me. Impossible to record without clipping the signal when you palm mute

Mesa Boogie dealers w/ new Mark IV's in stock

there's a Mark IV combo at Sagevik in Norway (lol)

    4x12 out of phase?

Hi, I just feel that the tone gets thinner the more I step away from the cab. Can this be some sort of phase cancellation from the speakers?

The Joy of Running Two Amps at Once

OK guys, this is a boomer: My mark IV with 4x12, and a Marshall MG15CDR as satellite. Amazing, huh? (I can't even hear the MG)
  16. E

    Oversized or Standard 4x12

You do not want the oversized one. I promise you. Cool enough to play with, but seriously impossible to record. Palm mute the low A, and you're blowing away with bass. Get's a bit loose in overall too

    Dull Mark IV Tone

The m8 definitly don't have medium output. And those groove tubes, those are preamp, right? Isn't it possible to set in the preamp tubes from the other amps you have? Or if it's power tubes, try to put the amp in class A and see if you still got a gain problem. If you have, take the two tubes...
  18. E

    Dull Mark IV Tone

Which Lundgren's are we talking about? Not the M8? Those can nearly lead the amp into overdrive without any help from the amp
  19. E

Cool. My tweed power ain't working (properly)

I wouldn't sacrifice good sound just to make the power tubes last longer, though

Cool. My tweed power ain't working (properly)

Are you sure? That sounded a bit weird. In Norway, we use 230 V whatsoever
