    The Mark IV thread....!!

some say that the A version is a bit juicier than the B, but I don't think it's a topic of big concern

    Program to sample recorded drums?

ok. I have a drumset, but I suck at drumming, and would really love to sample my own drums. So, does anyone know an easy program where you can record the drums and sample them like Tomas Haake did on Catch 33?

    Mark IV Cab

I think closed back cabs is best for the mark IV, since it's so tight, and might be a little bit too airy with an open cab

    Good metal pick up?

Lundgren M6? think meshuggah For me, they made my guitar sound better on cleans (in addition to increase my output by.. a lot)

Why do most people only preamp volume at 3-4 on Mark IV?

I feel that the tone gets much fatter with the preamp volume above 4, but it gets muddier as well. So I run my preamp at 4 and output at 3. I'm also lucky enough to have a hotplate.

    new rockerverb

that amp must be one of the competitors to the mark IV

Mark IV with EL34 and EL84 YJ

to be frank, I can't hear ANY difference between two matched 6l6 and two unmatched.

Mark IV with EL34 and EL84 YJ

For those who are interested, I've finally put my El34 back in the amp, now in position C. so now it's three 6l6 and one el34. I miss the long gone twin of the el34

    Last Mark IV ever made?

4500$ is like 1500$ more than you would get a mark IV for in europe

    Last Mark IV ever made?

I think there is a guy in this forum that have the last one, but I'm not sure. Mine is one of the last hundred at least.

    Haha Finally.

wow, I got my Mark IV in Mars, and didn't find any playable tones before one or two months later. Now, like 6 months later, I've begun to figure out how to get the tones I want

    About The Mark V....

You know, it will always be a Mark. I just think it will have a more modern voicing, more gain, better cleans, more "tubal options"

    AS I AM clip 2:90/TRIAXIS LD2 yellow

I really think that spot is the most balanced spot whatsoever, really. I'm just a bit impressed that petrucci usually don't add any EQ on the board, coz when I'm using this position, I have to add a bit height

    Mark IV soundclip

Hi, Here's and recording with my mark IV short head with a 4x12 standard rectifier. http://www.myspace.com/hamuemon Check out the song "untitled demo." The other song there is an old song which was recorded with a Marshall MG (lol). as far as settings go, I can't remember, but I tweaked it...

MkIII and Roadster live again (heavy instrumental rock)

nice song! Is it ok for you if I make a cover of the gunship song someday and send it to you? It would be really nice with a double bass on that song, but I don't have one.

    The Mark IV thread....!!

I think that when the faceplate is saying "mesa/boogie," it's the rack version. At least, I have only seen rack versions with this faceplate
