    Question for Mark IV owners

Will do. Thanks! -------WOW! just checked out you rh2 and lead clips. I had two re-listen strictly for the amp cause I was enjoying your playing so much! Well, I am definitely going to check out a Mark IV. I live in Austin, TX and the last time I checked Guitar Center and Musicmakers neither...

    SRV tone LSS settings?

That is 100% dead on, but 100% dis-heartening advice

    Question for Mark IV owners

Thanks. Maybe I need to re-vist the stilletto thing. I tried it out after nearly an hour with a roadster and I was getting brain dead. I'm thinking I may just have needed to adjust the presence on the stilletto to deal with the treble. I even tried it with a 12" thiele cab like I have at...

    Question for Mark IV owners

Thanks for your reply! I don't have a Mark IV, just thinking about buying a MARK IV head. I tried a stilletto deuce but it was too trebly for me (same problem I have with Marshall's). I have come to realize I am a mark series gain guy even though I am more blues rock oriented. I have: 1)...

    Question for Mark IV owners

So the R2 crunch is kinda weak? Can you reference anyone with an R2 type crunch sound?

    Question for Mark IV owners

I am thinking of picking up a Mark IV but would like opinions on the R2 crunch channel. I am looking for crunch similar to early Van Halen/Bad Company, etc., nothing particularly insane in crunch mode. Are you able to get that type of crunch and a decent R1 clean sound as well? thanks! raf

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

The only shops carrying Mesa are Guitar Center North (on Anderson at the North Cross Mall) and MusicMakers on South Lamar. They both are focusing more on the Recto/Roadster amps. The hot plates are sold at Guitar Rez on Lamar. Man, I haven't had the chance to get to SXSW in a while. I...

    Just Got My LSS

Excellent idea! I hadn't thought about recording it at the rehearsal space. I got one of those little Boss BR-600 recorders a little while back. I'll give it a shot. How do you set up them thar sound clips on this ol'board?

    Just Got My LSS

With no Lonestar Specials in Austin, I found out there was on in San Antonio. Brand-spankin' new LSS 1x12. I dug it - I bought it. It just 5 minutes or so using a printout of the instant gratification settings I was able to get clean and lead sounds very close to what I'm hearing in my...

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

Thanks for the replies. Inventive stuff. The hotplate sounds interesting. There's a store here in Austin that says they sell them. I'll have to check it out.

Lame experience at GC testing LSS amps

Just would like to clarify I couldn't believe how the store (on northside of town) is going down the tubes...people were nice but it started feeling like scam city...and they're letting the guitars get messed up too. I was handed an EJ strat to audition the amps and it need some setup work and...

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

nosajwp, Is that question directed at me about the 2x12 that didn't work out? The 2x12 was at the Guitar Center on Anderson Lane in Austin, Tx. I can't find an LSS in Austin! LOL!

Lame experience at GC testing LSS amps

Was it rube rattle you heard or some sorta elecro-magnetic break up POP CRACK! type sound? It sounded like like some wierd combination of horrible tremelo and string popping (like a bass player popping strings)...maybe erratic volume thing..we first thought it might be a bad cord. Gots to...

Lame experience at GC testing LSS amps

Went to try the LSS 2x12 I was excited about at Guitar Center and they also had an LSS 1x12 - Great! I get to check them both out! NOPE.... I started with the 1x12 and and channel 2 had a weird sputtering sound when I hit A-string notes...damaged; moved to the 2x12 and it had a "fizzy" sound...

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

Excellent info on the 2x12! Nothing like some oomph!!! I am concerned about volume because Mesa's are LOUD. I have a Mark II C+ I almost always run on the 15 watt setting. Not THAT concerned, but with two twelves I thought it might lean towards overbearing in small clubs. Thanks!

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

Thanks guys! I appreciate your responses. Was going to wait till Sunday to try out the 2x12, but I think I'll head out tonight after work and check it out - getting Boogie fever... Only 14 pound difference between the two and it seems the 2x12 would offer a simpler approuch to gigging, don't...

    Lonestar Special 1x12 vs 2x12?

Am thinking of getting a Lonestar Special 1x12 but would have to wait 60-90 days due to backorder. I can purchase a 2x12 combo now. Would like to hear from any LSS owners of either on why they picked their particular combos. Especially would like to hear from 2x12 owners about their...
