Help with the finding of a Midi Equaliser

I use a Digitech MEQ dual14 graphic eq in my rig. It is stereo, has 128 programmable presets, has XLR, 1/4", and RCA in/outs. And can be controlled with midi. It's since been discontinued, but can still be found used relatively inexpensive. I've had mine for about 15 years now, and it's held up...

Favorite High Power Les Paul Pickups.

I thought about replacing the 498r and 500t pups in my LP studio with the the Suhr DA pups. I've only heard alot of good stuff about them, but haven't actually played through them. Perhaps I'll give em a try.

do you use same brand of guitar cables in your rig?

Mogami 2524 with switchcraft connectors. I recently overhauled all my cable, and custom built my own, so now I don't have the spaghetti factory going on behind my rack. I also shortened all the power cables to all my racks. It really made a noticable difference in the hiss and overall noise that...

Can you recommend an acoustic Martin???

I really like the clarity the Taylors have, their tone just stands out to me, but as for Martin', if I could, I would probably get myself a D-28. I just love the warmth of their tone.

    mixing actives and passives

My Ovation electric was originally a HSS. I replaced the humbucker with an EMG 81, I pulled the middle single coil all together and I left the neck pup (which is passive) The output of the EMG is about 5 times (at least) what the passive single coil is. Eventually (sigh) I will pop out the...

What preamps are you guys using........

with your Mesa Amps?? I've been using a JMP-1 with a Stratgy 500 for quite some years. I like the tones I get, but I've been toying around with the idea of replacing the JMP-1 with a CAE3+se possibly. I think the JMP has some pretty good crunch sounds, but the cleans leave plenty to be desired...

    Strobo Tuner or Korg DTR1000

I use an OLD Korg DT1-Pro tuner, it's been in my rig for the past 16 years or so. It's nothing fancy, but it has always done a fine job. It is a tone sucker from hell though. The way I have it set up is, I run a DI line out of the back of my JMP-1 so it's completely out of my sig chain, but the...

    Comp Pedals

I've heard alot of good about the Keeley 4 knob comp, I just don't know if I can justify paying $270 +/- for a comp. I would like to be able to try one out on my set up first. Do any of you guys use the Keeley 4 knob comp?? If so, how do you like it.

    Lead Delay Settings

On my MPX-1, I like to use a stereo delay with the left set at about 315ms and the right set at 425ms. This setting seems to work pretty good for me for just about everything. I will usually keep the mix at about 60%-75% wet with about enough delay to fade out completely after the third delay.

    Recording high gain guitar

I agree there are many ways to set up mics and record good sounding guitar. But aside from the mics and preamps, soundcards, etc. One thing that is often overlooked is the sound treatment in the room. It can mean the difference between an okay recording or a great recording. Just my 2 cents.

    Tracktion 3 Mackie recording software

I have been using Tracktion 2 for 2 years now and I gotta say I love it. Tracktion 3 on the other hand, at this point is riddled with bugs. They are still in the process of trying to fix most of the the bugs, but in all honestly, T3 has been a real let down, considering the high expectations it...
