Buying my first Boogie (some direction needed)

I guess I should have clarified earlier, I am pretty much a bedroom (actually, it's an Office in the Man-Cave out behind the house)player. You don't think 100 watts is ovrkill do ya

Buying my first Boogie (some direction needed)

I have no use for the Tremolo, so why pay for features I don't need? Thats why I'm looking for direction, ie; If a Rect-O-verb is the same thing as the Trem-o-verb, sans tremolo, why not just get the Rect-o-verb. It would be kinda cool to see a Boogie Family tree to see what amps spawned...

Buying my first Boogie (some direction needed)

I need a bit of direction! Aside from wanting a great sounding, versatile amp, for single coils and Humbuckers, I am not sure what I should be looking for. For example: I just spent a couple of lunch hours with a Trem-o-verb, w/ 6L6's. I kept going back to the SS rectifier, and modern gain...

    Stoopid Studio Caliber (DC-2?) questions

I'm not really up on the older boogies, but am curious, Are the Studio Caliber, and a DC-2 the same thing? How do they sound at low (think bedroom type) volumes? Would it be worth it to drive for an hour and a half to buy one for $300? I have played a Mark IV, and thought it sounded pretty...

The one that speaks to you when you play it should be the main. If neither speaks to you start looking for a new guitar that does, you will know it when you find it. When you do find it start getting rid of the others.

Am I missing something? Recommendations needed as well

I had a blues jr for about a year, Too thin sounding, it had no ***. so I did the Billm mods to it, while it helped the clean side, it didn't help on the dirty side.

Am I missing something? Recommendations needed as well

No, no band, I just play for myself. I am just getting back into playing, I quit playing 16 years ago when My daughter was born, and sold off all of my gear except fo an acoustic, which I really didn't touch in that period either. Back in the day I always used SS amps, but since getting back...

Am I missing something? Recommendations needed as well

Hey Peeps, I'm A noob here, but have been searching and lurking for a few days. I am in the market for a new amp, so I went shopping this past weekend. I am looking to upgrade, my past experience with tube amps is limited to my Peavey Delta Blues 2-10, Crate vintage Club 20, Blues Jr. and a...
