New mesa Express 5 25 and 5 50 plus models

So who is going to get one of these and does anyone know when they will be at stores for purchase? I have a 5 50 12-12 combo and I am wondering just how nice these new plus express models are going to be.

    Nos tubes 5:50

I changed out the V1 and V2 with NOS RCA12AX7A preamp tubes and my express 5 50 is better for it. Worth the money, I am happy with the tonal results and how it works with my single coil pickup guitars.

Hahahaha! That was funny! Thanks folks!

    Mesa's SPAX7A preamp tube

Anyone used these and do you have to remove the rubber shield before putting them in the preamp slot? I am wondering if the heat of the preamp tube would melt the rubber shield on that tube.

Upcoming changes to the Express series?

Make it take 6v6 tubes or 6l6 tubes, that would be nice.

I've been busy over the last year, things change

Let me see, I bought a vintage Fender 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb, sold off my Two Rock Jet, My Mesa Boogie Mark V, and I just picked up a used Mesa Express 5 50 2-12 combo last week. I have not been on this forum since September 2011 I think, so forgive me if I ask all you express owners out...

I just got an ext. cab for my Mark V combo

I special ordered a close back wide body ported 1x12 mesa cab, with the Boogie logo on it. It took about two months from placing the order to getting the cab. It was well worth the wait. I really changes the way the amp responds or at least I feel it does. Very pleased so far, giving that...

Dialing out that nasal sound in my amp

Probably my number 1 ***** with the mark v is how hard it is to dial in good tone. Everytime I switch guitars, I have to reshape the tone controls to get that guitar sounding good. I am wondering if I could take my amp to a professional amp tech and have something inside changed to get rid of...

    Holy crap!

Glad to hear you liked it. It takes some time to figure out this amp.

Noise on channels 1 and 3. Replaced V1 and V3, no change.

Check the Phase inverter. It has a global effect.

    Going back to 6L6s

I fully agree with this statement. Hey Mesa, are you listening!

Decided to try Mark V with EL 34's Today

I have owned my amp for a year and a half now. Today is the first time I installed EL 34's and tried them out for myself. Being used to using 6L6's, I am very familiar with that sound, so I wanted to see what the 34's had to offer. In all three channels, I liked the tonal response I am...

Changing speaker in Mark V Combo

Anyone have any luck with picking a different speaker over the stock combo speaker. What did you install? Was it a for the better change and whay styles of music do you play? I am considering changing the stock speaker. I play mostly Rock and Blues style songs, sometimes I dabble in jazz...

Question on the Amp models in a Mark V

Being a ex mark III green stripe owner, I would say that the extreme mode on my mark v sounds different then my old mark III. As for the clean mode sounding like a fender amp, I can't say.

What kind of speaker is in the Mark V Combo

I want to know if the Mark V combo comes with an alnico or ceramic speaker. Does anyone know what the old EV 12" black shadows were by the way?

Question about tube break in period

First, is there such a procedure, break in, when replacing old with new 6L6 power tubes? What about the preamp section? I heard somewhere in passing that it was wise to break in the tubes, but I don't know if that is lure or wise. Any help with this process from someone who knows tubes would...
