    Reverb Footswitch for Mark IVa...

I was looking through the rear panel of my newly-purchased (through Craigslist) Mark IV short combo, and noticed that in the manual on the website, there is a jack for a reverb footswitch, while mine has no such jack. The reverb in this amp sounds surprisingly good, and I'd like to take...

    a little shipping advice ...

I haven't had any issues with shipping large packages through UPS. I work at a business that ships vinyl decals all over the country via UPS, and they're never reported as damaged. We use tubes and styrofoam peanuts. But cardboard tubes =/= musical instrument boxes. I sold a snare drum to a...

    I need an amp.

I'm looking for a head more than a combo. And lately, I've been on a mindset of Dual-Rectifier-or-Mark-IV-or-bust. I'm willing to wait until I have either of those. Right now I have around 1000 bucks to spend.

Not mine, but, Mark IV combo, 950$ in Raleigh

I just called him, he sold it today.

    I need an amp.

I sold my DC-5 combo today in hopes that I'd be able to pick up the stupid-cheap Mark IV here in Raleigh, and it's already been sold. So, I need an amp; what do you have? I have about 900 bucks to spend right now. A couple must-haves: 1) two or more channels (independent channels would be...

    DC 10 Reverb

I've found that putting a 12AT7 in the reverb position makes it sound MUCH nicer, but not louder.

DC Mods that are easy to do!

Great thread, the volume mod helped a lot. Can you send me some info on the effects loop mod to my email? [email protected] Has me wondering if there's any way to wire the channel selection and pull-boost, as well as GEQ and reverb to a MIDI footswitch, like those used for Dual Rectifiers...

    Hetfield's 1993 C+ settings and rig pix

Wow, that's a lot of stuff. And the graphic EQ explains a lot.

    Just bought a DC5

Which resistor, and where in the signal path? I'm assuming it'll be right on the volume knob, but I didn't pay much attention when I last opened it up.

    Just bought a DC5

JJ ECC83S in the preamp ftw. I use them as well, and they're perfect. I'm thinking about modding my volume knob, where can I get one where I can still use my current volume knob, but have a smoother taper?

    recording Mark IV...tips?

Experiment with mic positions. Speakers can sound very different depending on placement. Otherwise, sounds like you're in for some good tone.

    The Official DC Club

I sent another PM about a week ago, no response. And yes, though the DC series aren't necessarily worth as much as my old Ace, it definitely sounds better.

Anyone ever build a head enclosure?

Hanslow, that looks **** good. I think you may have just convinced me to build one with screws, but round the edges off so it looks like my combo's edges.

I saw this from a post on the Jem site

    That was awesome, great find!

    Favorite speakers to record with?

I've liked Vintage 30s best so far as well, normally with an e609. But I have an AT3525 that I will try again soon.

    If you got G.A.S...

Wow, that would be too many Marshalls for me. I mean, I like Plexis, but that's just overkill.

    Don't need no Mk V

I really want to try one. Whether or not I'll get one is a different story. Chances are that I'll end up buying a used Mark IV. I think the Vs look too much like Rectifiers, with the groups of chrome knobs. EDIT: Nope, they look almost exactly like Nomad 100s.

    Post your rig part 2

So far, I don't have any current pictures of my whole rig, but I'll post some old pictures: With my previous Stiletto Ace: And my current DC-5: I should take some picture of my current rig. I built my own pedalboard out of plywood (surprisingly nice), and have some different pedals. I...

running a IV into a Fender combo?

It's been stated, but why not use the speakers from the combo, and bypass the Fender power amp all together?
