I have a Series I Stiletto and am looking for more gain out of it. I'm considering the Hollywood mod and the Voodoo mod. Does anyone have any experience with either of these mods? I'm not looking for a Recto amount of gain/sustain, but a Mark IV amount of gain/sustain would be great.

Actualy, it only took about 2 days to adjust to the multi-scale fretboard. I haven't found it to be more difficult to play chords since most of the chords I use are three or four notes.

I had the same problem. The music store didn't have the 4x12 Mesa cab, so I got a Marshall 4x12 cab instead of waiting for the Mesa cab. The cab seemed to choke out the gain. I now have a Mesa cab and the Recto roars now.

I didn't think about trying the tubes from the other amps. I have JJs (preamp/power tubes) in the Recto and Groove Tubes (preamp/power tubes) in the V3. I'm just stumped because I don't have the lively gain now that I had when I first bought the amp 2 years ago. I do have the sustain though.
