    LSS and a Les Paul

I appreciate everyone's responses, and will try more fiddling with the controls. I will try channel two. I used to have a fender super reverb and deluxe reverb. The les paul sounded excellent through both. the strat, too. never thought i would get a mesa boogie, but i liked the fact that I...

    LSS and a Les Paul

Love my LSS. However, have not been happy at all with the way it sounds with a les paul. I have a 1981 lp standard, pretty stock except for the bridge pickup (some old dimarzio i put in about 20 years ago). I have tried it with and without a tube screamer (808), on the drive channel, clean...

    LSS - tube(s) got fried?

As to my fried rectifier situation: Bought 5y3 at local mesa dealer. Also got 5y3 in mail from Mesa (so now I have two working 5y3s). Also got the 5AR4 from Mesa (michael at mesa suggested using it in lonestar). Frankly, I'm afraid to try the 5AR4 in the lonestar, even though mesa suggested...

    LSS - sustain on leads

Use strat, lp standard, and ibanez artcore jazzbox. Yeah, i expect that strat will have least amount of sustain on its own, but when i plug it into my marshall valvestate (valve preamps, the rest is transistor-waste) it will sustain for days as well. So, I know amp, or amp settings, figure...

    Speaker options in a LSS 1 x 12?

I'm curious about that, too. I read on harmonycentral.com some guy swapped stock speaker for celestion vintage 30's (instead of the c90s in there now). He claimed it really opened up the amp. Go to harmony central, user reviews for the lss 1x12. There aren't that many reviews, so you should...

    LSS With Amp Stand

Yes, I have that stand, and it works fine. Can handle the weight.

    LSS - sustain on leads

Ok, love the amp, etc. I know not all amps do all things well. Playing lead on the LSS, yeah, it sings. Sometimes I would like some sustain on the notes. Tried the 808 reissue (was using it with Fenders before), and while it does the OD thing, still not getting the sustain I would like...

    LSS With Amp Stand

Actually, a study was done recently involving the floor to amp contact ratio when tilting the amp back and it turns out that the loss of bottom is only a perceived deficiency as compared to the relative loss of bottom when putting an amp on a stand. The loss of bottom is perceived because the...

    LSS With Amp Stand

I am reviving the "lss, does it cut it live" post. That thread went off on a tangent. I have the LSS 1X12. I was concerned about the lss live, or in a band situation. I tried the 35 Watt optional output (with 30 watt setting) before, and it did make a difference, but the other players told...

    Lonestar and Tube Screamer

Have tried the 808 reissue with LSS, sounds great. By the way, I used to use the 808 with Deluxe Reverb, and yes, when pushing the deluxe reverb, stomping on the 808 drives it into killer tone. I notice, though, that my wah pedal sounds better clean on the LSS than with a lot of overdrive.

    LSS - tube(s) got fried?

A little follow up on my previous post (rectifier fried, now a popping sound as i switch watts between 5-15-30): I also notice that if channel 1 and 2 have different watt settings, there is a popping sound when i change channels, however, if both channels are on the same watt setting (no matter...

    LSS - tube(s) got fried?

Had the same thing happen to me last week. Rectifier fried, and only 30 watts setting worked. Mesa said they were sending me a new one (5Y3), haven't received it. bought the tube myself at local guitar shp. Put it in and all settings work. However: now, whenever I switch between 30-15-5...
