    Limitations of the Triaxis

To the op, Limitations aren't much imho.Theres a few but there are workarounds for them as previously stated. 1.dynamic voice- an outboard eq in the loop....many eqs to choose from.My favs are mesa 5 band, source audio eq,tc electronic 1128. 2.no in between tone knob settings. The outboard eq...

Mark IVa vs IVb Lead Tone

Agreed with last post.Ive owned both too and its not like it's night and day difference between the two..Put the exact same tubes( with exact measurements) in both and it really gets hard to tell them apart..but yes, there are minor differences in each, but honestly you can't go wrong with either...

    Beginners guide to the TriAxis/2:90?

I cant remember if the owners manual says to use shielded cables or not for the 4 loop switches. I would try an on/ pedal that has short to ground with the 2 90 and see if you still get a noise increase...that v2 non phat tri is awesome...you should have a ton of tones coming out of that pre...

Quad vs. Mark IIc+ vs. Mark III who has compared them?

I own an 84' mkiic+, quad pre( serial # under 100),and a mkiii coli red stripe and mkiii coli blue stripe and v2 triaxis. Man,they're all so much fun.My quad has a rediculous amount of gain on either ch..its ch 1 sounds close to my iic+,not exact but darn close..ch2 is mkiii all the way...

    Coliseums

-^^^^^^^ this.......i have a mkiic+ and obviously love it for what it is...but my mkiii red stripe and blue stripe coli are just beasts with such raw tone and I like these differences... enjoy the differences... i personally can't imagine for the life of me more gain than my coli's possess,and...

Nice !!!!!!! I have an early serial # quad that was gone over at mesa not too long ago..sounds great, both modes are balanced, no eq issues...recently pickup a version 2 txd4 triaxis..i love it!!!!! ...i see it has a service sticker on it..not sure what was serviced as it doesn't say but the Dv...

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

Not many coli"s out there.Very low production number. They do pop up every now and then.I got lucky to nab a red and a blue in exc condition ( externally anyways). When i bought my red stripe yrs ago on a forum, after plugging into it,i quickly realized Mike had to bring it up to par.He said It was...

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

Good info^^^..My blue coli is going to mike for a go over this year, but i honestly love how my red and blue coli's are different and compliment each other..when using multiple 4x12 cabs,or a head switcher, to combine them, its a killer sound. My fav over my iic+ or mkiv..but theyre all good,no doubt

Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

Youre probably right. If i ever did ++ a mk amp,i suppose it would be my iic+.The iii's have a ton of gain, thickness, etc in them already....you may know more about this than me,but i do recall mike b saying something to to the fact once a while back that when you ++ the amp,you lose some of your...

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

Ive often thought of moving my ivb( it gets the least amount of play time) but then i back off of selling it cause it is really nice. For me the pure raw, openess, power of the iii's is where its at,for now.I have gotten the most tone compliments live with my blue & red stripe coli's than my ivb...

Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

Np Gjgo! And congrats on your iic+ Scott! I at one time thought about having mike ++ my iic+ and + my coli's, but honestly, i cant imagine the need for any more gain that what i have now with them.My coli"s do have more gain than my iic+( mike b told me they would). But i like them for what they...

Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

Markedman has it right. Id have to agree pretty much.I own a 84' mkiic+ thats just been gone over by mike b,and i also own a mkiii coli blue and a red stripe. Both my coli's have the rhythm 2 mod which is crucial to have.As been said, the mkiii,at least mine are way more versatile, have more gain...
