I am surprised pro-boosting is winning out in the poll. I'm just not feeling the tones when boosted on my mark so I guess I am biased :lol: Straight tone ftw!

After seeing this thread I decided to go try mine boosted with my TS-7. Channel one sounded really dang good with a boost, but 2 and 3, I was not a fan of at all. I dont think I'll be boosting again. However, I am planning on getting a fuzz one of these days, if that counts as a boost.

Once my Mesa Stiletto cab comes in, I was thinking of keeping two V30s, but swapping the other two for either Cannabis Rex's or Swamp Things. Anyone tried either of these combos with their MkV? I am digging the mark with the legend's in my vader, but something with a bit more bottom end would...

Soo... for the slow folks hear like myself, in simple English, is it possible to run 3x 8 ohm cabs as described in the OP with one going out of the 8 ohm, and the other two going from the 4 ohms?

I'd say the cleans take a very minor hit from the change to 6l6's, but its not that big of a deal, and I would say its worth it for what it does to channel 2 and 3

There is definitely a noticeable improvement! It really brings alive the gain sounds. And especially on channel 2, you'll get more of a british type flavor of gain.

I really need to spend some more time with Extreme mode, I have mostly been hanging on Mark IV and a lil bit on C+

Hey on terms of settings, (btw, those were just how things were set when I brought it home, I have changed things up, but treble and bass controls are still pretty similar to me) I have EL34s in there, and I think that has a lot to do with it. Also, what cab and speakers are you running? V30s...
