    a technical question

I believe this would require an output transformer swap

    Extreme Mode Question

Update: I finally got around to trying my Blackjack with the extreme mode, perfect match up! I don't know why I didn't think to try that out sooner

    Extreme Mode Question

I too am not feeling extreme mode so much. But now it has just occurred to me to try my schecter (blackout pups and tuned to drop c) in extreme mode... I should do that. I have found that guitar to sound kinda flubby and mushy in mark iv mode

Cranked my Mark V (all the way...) today

Nwver gone all the way up before, but some tips for when cranking, gain down when volume goes up, and probably take it easy on the treble and presence too to avoid overly bright tones

I watered the mini tower of power!

Oh nice, those are 10 inch speakers right? How do 10 inch speakers compare to 12 inchers?

Mark V and EMG's....do they get along ?

I haven't tried EMGs with my mark v, but I personally prefer passive sound to my active blackouts. But both still sound great

    Awesome! What speakers?

    Vid of my Mark V

Thanks! Yeah I am definitely impressed with how good this sounds at low volumes. Guitar was a schecter blackjack ATX with seymour duncan blackouts, and the settings were as follows: Gain: 1 o'clock Channel volume: noon presence: 1 o'clock treble: 11 o'clock Mids: noon Bass: 9 o'clock GEQ...

Its got Eminence legends in there. And I guess the ones that Vader uses are custom voiced by eminence specifically for their cabs

    Tube question

Yeah, I contacted Doug's tubes (I trust them more than eurotubes) and he said that KT77s would work fine and safely with the bias in EL34 mode

    Tube question

I'd say its definitely worth it just to try 'em out once. How much I liked the EL34s over the 6l6s has me wondering about other tubes, and I am thinking about picking up some KT77s to try out and see how I like those
  14. S

    Tube question

I'd give it a shot, just for comparison if nothing else. I also recommend trying out some SED EL34s, those sound awesome in the mark V

Really low volume, and the sound quality isn't the greatest, but ya'll can get the idea. Sounds great even at whisper volumes  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k4FeJ09iuU

Using different power tubes in the Mark V

Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to run powertubes besides 6l6s and el34s in the mark v. I guess the two most important questions would be, 1) would KT tubes even fit with the spacing in there, and 2) I would assume that KT77s would be safe to run with the bias set to el34, but how about...

    What will become?

I'd go for it, I am not a big JVM fan, but it would mix up the tones your rig could provide. And down the road if you wanted the IV again, you could pick one up for not too much

    I ordered a Mark V!!!

Congrats, this amp will bring you insurmountable amounts of pleasure

NAD !!Just got the call!! now with pics

Daaayum that thing looks awesome dude! Very classy look. As an on loocker, that little split isn't to noticeable and definitely not bothersome, but I could definitely understand being upset with that as the owner of the amp

    NAD - Ya Hoo !

Interesting that you are digging the mark I mode right off, seems a lot of people can't get into that until after quite a bit of tweaking. I'm still not there myself
