I LOVE the Mark I channel! As much as i love the IIC+ and IV channels for leads, lately I've been messing with a more open high gain rhythm tone from the Extreme, then switch to Mark I for leads. KILLER STUFF!!! Heck, I love the Mark 1 so much it's gotten me interested in a King Snake.

Very nice looking setup. I've wanted to mix a Thiele in with my Mini Recto cab but the Thiele is narrower so I can't go on the bottom, where I'd like it for bass purposes. Still might get one. Maybe drop a Warehouse 12L in it. 8)

I know the OP says "flagship" but I the small versions are now so wildly popular, that I woudn't be surprised to see a 3 channel 25 or 35 watt Mark. Imagine a V25+ with three channels, and the Tweed, and Mark 1 Modes added.... I'm drooling already.

I figured as well, that Mesa would warn you in the manual if you shouldn't do it. But it's possible that they figure you should KNOW not to flip it without, at a minimum, putting it in standby. Since the "off" position is in the middle, my thought is that flipping it from full to variac mode...

If the Mark V25 you are playing sounds "very brittle and sterile" you need to replace the tubes NOW. Not with NOS, just normal Mesa replacements. That amp is far from brittle and sterile with stock tubes that aren't worn out.

As of last week, I now have two Mark V's. One of them has a 25 after it. Just got the big boy though, and after a rocky start, I'm LOVING the amp.
