Where do you upload your music to

Bandcamp looks good too. I like that it's free (free is always nice). 10 - 15% is one of the higher cuts I've seen than other sites, but I'm really not looking to make any money off of this so that doesn't effect my decision. I've got some good alternatives from my original search, thanks...

    Thanks...I'll look into that.

Where do you upload your music to

I came across an old EP I was shopping around 25 years ago and thought about uploading it one of the music sites, such as CD Baby or Jamendo. Not sure if I will charge or make the downloads free. If I did charge it would only be .25 a download. Just wanted to get thoughts on some of the...

    Use of non-Mesa tubes

TudeDepot.com is very good, I trust them and have been buying tubes there for my Mark IV for years. They'll set you up.

MK IV ch 3 Presence: pushed or pulled?

It depends on which guitar I use. With my Les Paul custom presense set to 0, strats 3 - 4, same with 335. Sometimes with mys Les Paul Standard I may go 3 - 5 if I want a more edgy sound, othwise that'll stay close to 0.

MK IV ch 3 Presence: pushed or pulled?

I perfer it in, I've used it pulled on rare occasions when playing in a "dead" room where I need to really cut through. A bit fizzy for me pulled. I do use the R2 presense pulled with one of my les pauls for a chunky rhythm though, FWIW.

Any Hollow/Semi-Hollow Body Players Out There?

Thanks for the replys. I've brought it to one guy locally about dressing them down, and he felt that it wasn't a good idea. Thought I should leave it as is. There is another one I need to try, heard he's very good. I love the sound of the guitar, but just not used to those taller frets...

Any Hollow/Semi-Hollow Body Players Out There?

Question to you 335 owners out there. I bought one several years ago and mine has the newer "taller" frets. Most of my guitars are 30+ years old, back when the frets were "lower" and closer to the fretboard. I'm not sure if I like these newer ones, still thinking about having them changed...

Blue Stripe Mark III: Common Ancestor to Mark V/Rectifier?

Very interesting post. You obviously put a lot of thought into this subject. I haven't played a Mark III in just over 20 years so I really can't comment on those aspects, but find your lineage interesting. The last time I played a III it was most likely a green stripe, since it was new and...

    Tone vs. Playing Skill?

First of all, you should never feel self-conscious about your playing. Not everyone wants to be the next Jeff Beck. Most people pick up an instrument b/c they enjoy playing, it's fun, and it makes them feel good. Also I know many excellent players who, when they try out gear at music stores...

    Gibson Les Paul Classic Coming...

FWIW, I'm not a big fan of the newer Les Pauls. I've played several the past year when the Gibson truck came to my local guitar store and was not impressed. I own 2 1981 Les Pauls, one Standard and one Custom. The Custom having Tim Shaw PUPs. The new ones just don't sound like the older...

    need advice Mark IIb

Since Mesa Boogies are "fixed bias" amps, any middle rated tube will do. You should buy from a reputable tube place who is knowledgeable to sell you those. I have always done well with tubedepot.com. As far as which tubes, that's a preference of taste. For the past few years I have been...

think about EL34 for my Roadster...

I swear by Tung-sols RI in the V1. Been using them there for a couple of years now.

think about EL34 for my Roadster...

I like SED =C= myself. They are very clear and good for lead tones. They work the best for my playing. There are also built very well.

full stack or half stack with mark v head???

+1 I've been using a slant 4X12 for over 20 years now. Before that, full stacks. They were big in the '80's, but as another poster said, most times you'll find yourself leaving one at home. Too much to transport and soundmen WILL hate you.

Any Hollow/Semi-Hollow Body Players Out There?

I play my 335 through a Mark IV. I tend to play it on "Tweed" setting class A Pentode. I usually back off the gain and drive b/c I love hearing that hollow body sound and don't want to cover it up under too much gain. A nice bluesy tone. The 335 isn't my main guitar but I do love the tone.

    RIP JAMES MARSHALL HENDRIX

Man, I was 4 when he passed. I still get sick when I think what he could be doing today. It's a sin. In June of 1968 he jamed at the Scene club in NYC with Jeff Beck and Clapton, sadly no bootlegs of that. What a F K'n show that must of been. Those few years he gave us tons to work on and...

Doug's tone kit, any opinions for a Mark V?

I'd go with the new Mullard in the PI slot, just my .02

    Mesa Boogie on Full House

+1, I thought I was the only one who thought that way. Very rarely have I ever played one NOT like that.
