    More MKIV A questions.....R2

Hello....wouldn't normally start another MKIV A thread since I've already started one.....but it's so dead here, I figured it wouldn't matter. Is it just me, or does the R2 on early MKIV A's seem sweeter sounding & easier over all to get a great sound out of? I remember this with my very first...

    1992 MKIV A....re-cap & spare parts

I have read and heard this also through the years, but the MKIV, I just acquired is the oldest amp I've ever had. Even though this amp sounds really good right now, I'm still leaning to re-capping it. Although I have the skills and tools to do it myself, I might just ship it to Mesa in Petaluma...

    Mark IV - Worth getting?

The MKIV A was my first Mesa in 1991. I sold it in 1993, and regretted it ever since. I tried later models as late as 2001, but none sounded the same. For many years I thought it was just me. BUT....I recently came across a 92 MKIV A. Purely dumb luck, but this is the sound I remember!! Its...

    1992 MKIV A....re-cap & spare parts

Just acquired one of these.....needs a little work, but overall the amp is in fair shape and intact. Can any original owners tell me how long they had theirs before it needed a cap job? This thing looks original and doesn't appear to have ever had power supply caps replaced. Best I can tell...
