Definitely interested for sure. Keep me posted and pictures would be great. Thanks.

Where to recover tolex & grill cloth on my Mark IIB combo?

I love my Mark IIB combo, but it is a little road worn, and I want to get the cab recovered with the original white/cream colored tolex (as close as possible) and also recover the wheat grill cloth. Any suggestions on where to get this done? I would preferr to have this done more locally...

    Yes or No - Simul-class?

I voted not Simul-Class. Not a fan of the Class A tones at 15 watts on a Simul-Class amp.

    Mark III+ C27 Cap Question

Love to know this answer also since I am trying to tame the brightness of my new to me Mark III blue stripe. I did change out the two outer EL34's in my Sumul-Class amp, and to my ears, this change did seem to add some Fender sparkle and tone to the amp. I did read a Mesa bulletin...

New to me Mark III Blue Stripe (need your help)

Thanks Bottle Rocket for your reply. Just to clarify (I have since edited my original post) the volume drop issue happens with both the Volume 1 and Bass knobs, when I turn either of them them past (6) six. I may have confused the issue as stating V1 (Volume 1) with the V1 tube. Any easy...

New to me Mark III Blue Stripe (need your help)

Hi all, I sold my Mark IIB back in April and picked up a near mint Mark III combo last weekend. It is a Simul-Class model, has an EVM12 speaker, and reverb. I've had a lot of trouble taming the excessive brightness of this amp. I've tried the Mesa recommended settings and these settings would...

    Mark IIB Preamp tubes

I can't help but my 1982 Simul-Class Mark IIB combo could some help in the gain department also. I have a fresh set of Mesa tubes in my amp, great cleans but not so great overdrive at least at lower volumes. Hope someone in the know responds to help us with overdrive issues witho a MKIIB.

    NAD Mark IIb

I own a 1982 Mark IIB Simul-Class combo. Mine was made in April and has Mark IIC knobs, blue tolex, and a silver grill. I changed my amp over from the two EL34 and two 6L6 combination to a new quad set of Mesa 6L6's. To me an improvement in tone, especially on the clean channel.

Mark IIB at the Tech for a Checkup

Got the amp back. Sounds great with the four 6L6's in the Simul-Class amp. Kind of surprised not more interest in the results of this change.

Mark IIB at the Tech for a Checkup

Got my amp back from the tech that took well over a month to do the job but I amp pretty happy with the work. Changed out the two outer EL34's (Simul Class) and the inner 6L6's with a new quad of Mesa branded 6L6's, filter cap changes, a few preamp tubes, a general checkup, and a new blue...

Simul Class Mark III can run 6l6 in outer sockets?

I have a Mesa approved tech giving my Mark IIB a checkup, new filter caps, and swapping the two outer EL34's (Simul-Class model) with 6L6's. I called Mesa and they said no problem swapping the EL34's for 6L6's. I hope to have the amp back within a week or so.

Channel switching relays? I'll mention this to the tech when he calls. Thanks, Grid

Mark IIB at the Tech for a Checkup

I've read the same but I contacted Mesa and they stated no issues. Probably need to stay with Mesa branded tubes. Thanks, Grid

Mark IIB at the Tech for a Checkup

Bought this amp a few months ago and love it. Checking filter caps, tubes, and swapping out the two outer EL34's (Simul-Class model) with two 6L6's. Hoping this smooths out the overdrive tone a bit and I just prefer the tone of 6L6's over EL34's. Any other items that I should ask the tech...
