2 Channel Dual Rectifier - Red Channel Failure?

Yeah, my amp's serial number is between 500 and 512. So it's a Rev. D? Is there a certian serial number that will designate the transformer as a "Mark III" transformer? Anything I should look for?

2 Channel Dual Rectifier - Red Channel Failure?

Well, a few hours ago I decided to "poke around" at the V1 preamp tube and sure enough a SURGE of volume came from the amp! It seems to be good for now. So, now I would like to identify the amp itself. Since the Boogie Files website is down, can anyone tell me what revision my Dual Rectifier...

2 Channel Dual Rectifier - Red Channel Failure?

HI everyone! I recent picked up an early (07/1992) Dual Rectifier Blackface (R-05XX), and when I plugged it in, for some reason, the Orange Channel seems really faint and the Red Channel doesn't produce any sound at all. I have no idea why the Red Channel won't work. I have tried all sorts of...

    Mark III + Mark IV = ?

I endorse this message (see sig). There really isn't anything that either of the amps can't handle. I think it is great when an amplifier company is able to put out ONE great product, but TWO great products, and have them be drastically different...wow...

    THD HOT PLATE

I owned a THD 8 Ohm Hotplate and thought it was one of the coolest "guitar gifts" I received. I tried it on my 3 channel Triple Rectifier and determined that the amount of attenuation (a alot) I was using it for didn't warrant keeping it, so I returned it. I actually found out how to use the FX...

    DR and BBE Sonic Maximizer

I have a TR and purchased the rackmount BBE 882i. The only thing that I can say that it was that it seemed to give the TR a little more cut, but after a few days, ended up returning it. I was given a BBE Sonic Maximizer Sonic Stomp as a gift about 4 years ago... ...I still haven't used it yet...

    Mark IV grill cloth question

+1 I was looking at a Mark IVa Medium Head that had the Black Bronco Tolex and the same MESA/Boogie Logo as the name plate in your pic (not the Mark IVb "Boogie" faceplate). FWIW, the Mark IVa I was looking at did NOT have a serial number. It must have just "fallen off"...

Back to Boogie MKIV or a 5:50 Express

Hey TS! You still have the Mark IV??? How has it been working for you?

How many different mark IV versions are there REALLY?

I have seen one transitional Mark IV that had completely different caps used in the circuitry, but I called Mike Bendinelli for some help and he never returned my call. I compared it to some of the pics on this forum (in the Mark IV sticky) and I compared it to the Mark IV is have now...

James Hetfield's Mark II C+ "Crunch Berries"

Aslo, I tried the "black album settings" and "M" GEQ settings and it nailed the Black album tone. Check out a few of the vids on youtube. Someone actually separated all the individual guitar tracks. The most surprising IMO is the "Sad But True" track. James used a baritone guitar to thicken up...

James Hetfield's Mark II C+ "Crunch Berries"

You are right about the approach to "acheiving" these tones, but do you have pics do validate you claims of the gear used? I have never seen an Orange or Silverstar amp used by 'Tallica. I know that they have used Het's old Silvertone, but not a Silverstar. FWIW, I thought Het starting using...

    Mark IV Switches

I may go that route. IDK, for some reason I don't really trust the local Boogie repair station out here in PHX. Nothing against the employees, but the last time I had an amp that needed to be repaired, they told me it was going to take 4-6 weeks in order to fix the problem...a bad LDR... Thanks...

    Mark IV Switches

So, I was going through and cleaning up my Mark IV and noticed that there seems to be a little more "play" in the Power and Standby switches than what I would consider "acceptable". Anyone else notice this? Also, I was cleaning the dust out from behind the knobs and noticed that the Master...

    4x12 EVM Loaded Cabinet

I have the Straight 4 X 12 (with the half-slanted baffle), and I always wanted to have a straight baffle. I'n not sure why. What makes the Straight Cab/Slanted Baffle so appealing? I would like to know because I have one. Thanks!

Question about mods for the C+

IMO, if you have a C+, LEAVE IT ALONE! I guess I just feel that the C+ is the ultimate amp IMO, so I hate to see anyone try to mod or improve it. But to be more direct about your question, are you having problems getting a decent clean sound out of the amp?

    MKIV the Best

I love my Mark IV, even with R2. For what I play, I find the amp incredibly easy to dial in, and with the GEQ, it is almost impossible to be disappointed by it's range. I have a Recto that far outshines the Mark in regards to depth/bass, but for a go-to amp, the Mark IV is by far my...

    Mark IV problems

Here are the things I did to fix the Mark IVs in the past (for you or anyone else that might have these same problems with their nMark IVs) - footswitch will not go to lead, no red led on footswitch or front of amp, footswitch feels good upon tap on switch, can be manualy switched with knob on...

    Mark IV preamp tube help

Have you tried replacing tubes in your amp before? What tubes have you tried and what charateristics of the Mark IV do you think you want to improve when compared to your current setup?
