Got a Mark III or IIC front panel you can scan?

I smell a lawsuit written all over this. Be careful.

    Mark IIC+ verification help needed

RP-11A says that is a C+. It is either a HRGX or a DRGX model.

    Bought a Mark VII!

I don't know why MESA does not offer the EVM-12L as an optional speaker in their cabinets. It fits the Mark-series so well.

    MARK III SERIAL NUMBERS

The serial #'s were stamped when the chassis were installed into the cabinet, from what I've heard. There is a chance that the amp was ordered as a purple stripe, and the order was cancelled. It sat on the shelf until another order was placed and the serial number was stamped at that time. Best...

    Identify this head?

Mark 3 75/15 watts, may or may not have a reverb knob on the rear panel. By the script on the Rhythm 2 control, I would say that is it an early model. 1985-ish.

    Diode AND tube rectifier modes?

    IIC+ Goldilocks Circuit

The Sylvanias are really that bold. STR-415 or STR 415/416 in my DRG Mark 2C+ amps, for sure. One set up for the high gain blend, 2nd one with all 415 for the crazy clean, the 3rd one on Class-A with only the 416 in Class-A 15 watt mode. All with the EVL-12L speakers.

Mesa Boogie Mark IV - very less overdrive in first channel

Max out the first control and use the treble with the control "pulled" to add the bite to the sound. If that does not work, I would be looking hard at the V1 preamp tube, or your guitar pickups. I had a SD Custom go half dead on me once, with low output.

Mark V:35 on Thiele 1x12 EVM12L not saturating like I want–is it a speaker problem?

I agree that the EL-84 power section may not jive with the EVM 12-L, in ANY cabinet.

NAD: Mesa Boogie Mark VII head. WOW

The Sylvania power tubes combined with the EVM-12L speakers are my thing. Tungsram and RFT 12AX7 pre's seem to help too. All the bitching about the EVM speakers can be dialed out with the tone stack/GEQ. It's not like you do not have the room to move with ANY GEQ Mark series Boogie.

Mark IIb mod's, return on investment (i.e. second-hand going rate?)

The first Boogie that I heard was a 2B with the FX Mod. The first one that I owned was a 1978 Mark I with the effects loop added and that mod included. It was my main amp for many years with a Boss OD-1 out front. The mod helped control the volume, and blend the tone. I liked it on mine.

Mark III + is a firebreather

If you can find some STR-416's try them paired with the STR-415's. I like that combo in a Simul-Class Mark series Boogie.

    Mesa Mark

I'll trade you from those old worn out power tubes, for a fresh new set.

    Mark IIB voicing...bassy?

I installed the brass block, EMG Lukather set, and EMG SPC pot to fatten up my 1998 Jackson SL-1 to try and get close to the thickness of my 1973 goldtop LP. As about as close as I could get to the passive pickup Gibson.

    Mark IIB voicing...bassy?

The "Post FX Level" mod fixes the fat bottom girl issue with the IIB amps.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

The original C+ will always be a "flash in the pan" when it comes to Vintage Boogie amps. It could be re-created, I believe. But I don't think they will ever do it. Too much compromise for the modern player, and amp sales. That is why I'm old school, and buy used.

    Mark IIB to IIC+ Conversion

My neighbor even brought her kids over here to hear the C+/4x12 EVM12L Boogie magic.

    Who Needs Pedals

My Exotic EP booster stays on all the time with the knob at about the 11 o'clock position, and I use the Exotic RC Booster when I split the coils on my Anderson's just to get the signal strength back up to the humbucker level.

    Who Needs Pedals

The old 2-knob BOSS OD-1 worked very well with my 1978 Mark I between the Les Paul and input jack. The amp also had the "Post FX Level" mod with its knob on the rear of the chassis.

Help with my 1978 Mark I

The original picture does not look like the "Post FX" loop mod that was done to my 1978 model, at MESA. It worked very well at controlling the volume, and a Boss OD-1 in the front of the signal chain.
