Mine is not as old as Stephen's. But I have no desire to sell it at all.

Need some assistance with my Nomad 45 1X12 FX loop

Cool. Glad you found out. PS: What is the "four cable method"?

    Nomad sub forum?

Don't know. Must other models have their own sub-forum. There has seemingly been enough Nomad threads to warrant a sub-forum.

Mark IV problem, all channels quiet/thin

You might want to give them a call first and ask them what they think. I have had amp issues before, and when I called, they helped me figure out what it was. Once it was something I could fix on my own. Another time, I had to send it in. George (at Mesa) was excellent in how he fixed my amp...

    Mark IV volume shift

Sorry it took me so long to reply. This turned out to be a very busy weekend. But, I did get a chance to play my Strat through the Mark IV. Yep, I get a big volume jump. But, not at 2. Mine is just past 1 - right before you get to 1 and a half. When you go past that, it does get louder (and...

    Mark IV volume shift

Mine jumps pretty quick too. When I get off of work, I will try it and let you know the specifics.

    ok, lets be honast....

Yes. I got one when they first came out. I used it and a Marshall Mark II Lead in a band I was in. Rotated between the two. The one I had was an excellent little amp. Loud as all get out.

Mesa Nomad reverb problems... how to solve?

That is odd indeed. My Nomad's reverb (I have a 45, not the 100) will make noise if I have the reverb turned up and I shake the amp, or hit the reverb tank. But, under normal playing conditions, the reverb does not make that sort of noise. A few questions: (1) Does it ever start making the...

I do believe I am in love. Thanks for posting. Very, very nice.

    Mark IV channel switching defect

I would suggest you give Mesa a phone call. Any time I have had a question, they have been extremely helpful each time I called. Keep in mind, though. They are closed on Fridays.

    Nomad with a strange screw

Hi. I have a 45 1x12 combo that has been recently re-housed. I will have to go look at it now to see which screw you are talking about. When we re-housed the combo, I don't recall seeing a tension screw (or even a grounding screw), but in all the stuff we did I may simply have missed it. Could...

New Mesa combo day (my brother built me a custom enclosure)

I was really taken back when he decided to do it pretty much for free. He does. He made our fireplace mantle, kitchen cabinets, ... Thanks! That was actually where I got the "bug" to get one of these. I saw quilted maple combos on Mesa's site. They looked superb. But they were in a different...

    Mark IV not sounding right

Once you get used to how they work, they are excellent amps. You have to learn to dial them in with your ears, and not your eyes.

    Help me decide!

What modern features are you needing? I have been using a Mark IV for years and it is extremely versatile. I don't play metal either. And the Mark IV excels for what I need: Cleans and classic rock. A lot of people don't like channel 2, but I get some good Marshall-type tones from it. Channel...

    Mark IV not sounding right

For what it's worth, I don't use the GEQ a whole lot (and, for context, I don't play metal). I was guessing the GEQ since your clips didn't seem to have any mids. And, when I looked at the video the first time, I thought the "loop" light was on, not the "EQ" light. I went back and viewed it...

    Mark IV not sounding right

My first guess would be it sounds like you may have the GEQ engaged.

New Mesa combo day (my brother built me a custom enclosure)

I have always loved the look of quilted maple. My mouth has drooled each time I see a Mesa combo decked out in it. For years I have wanted to one own a combo made from quilted maple. My brother heard me talking about it and decided to make one for me - provided I bought the wood and supplies. He...

Scored my first Boogie ever MARK IV "b", now what?

Congrats on the Mark IV trade! Hopefully you will grow to love this amp as much as I do. Fantastic amp. Concerning your question about the effects loop: The manual appears to be written from the "Mark IVa" viewpoint, and not the "Mark IVb" viewpoint. This link should help explain the...

    3 Boogie lineup

I agree with you. A lot of times people do it, but in a rather snarky mode. You didn't do that, and that's very cool of you. I have never had the opportunity to play through a Recto series amp. The Mark series was always my first love. Which Rectos are you referencing? The older series or the...
