IIC or not to see? - loop mod

You should search this forum, there should be circuit changes in both schematics and layout formats that show you the required changes based on the pcb revision board. A IIC pcb reworked becomes de facto a iic+: loop improved, pre and power amp are set to iic+ specs. Then there is the iib loop...

Mark II amp tone stacks- how to set for flat EQ?

It depends... are you using the lead channel or the clean channel only? On the mark II B/C the tone stack is plate fed and put before the VOL1 gain. Then the signal is sent to the lead channel (lead drive). On the mark I, the tone stack is plate fed, but put after the VOL2 gain, and VOL1 acts...

Mark IIC+ very ill! Please help!

Ciao Io sì vivo in Italia.

Mark IIC+ very ill! Please help!

Ciao, just call Massimo Mantovani at M-tech audio and speak with him on the phone, I had most of my mesa (including IIC+) serviced by him. If the amp has never been recapped, this might be the perfect time to do this as well. I would not recommend to poke around with an amp that has an high...

    Mark 7 Mod

Interesting, so MKVII so crunch and MKVII seems to a have a post gain TS but still taking the signal from the plate instead of using a CF. Is there any similarity to some old design as the dual caliber for example?

Dual Rectifier Rev G drops volume after a while

@CoG Do you have a pic of the resistor you changed or can you identify it on the schematic that is freely available on the internet? Thanks!

Dual Rectifier Rev G drops volume after a while

Thanks for this man, I have a similar issue on my tverb where I need to raise the master after 20 to 40 mins and then it stabilizes. I have to raise it by a good bit (a single digit) in order to match the previous volume. I've never understood the reason but I've always suspected a overheating...

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

About the mark I reissue: They did it in the 90s when the mark iv was the current design (pulls and switches). Then they switched to mark V. And owners of a original mark I will tell you that it will sound dfferent from the original one. Regarding the mark iii red stripe and iic+. I...

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

You are all missing the point. Mesa doesnt want to go back to two channel with push and pulls. To them It is not user friendly. And I bet that even if they do it will sound 99,99 close but not 100. IIC+ soundwise they tried at each iteration to get as close as possible to the iic+. Jp2c and...

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

Which version do you own? 60W, 60/100W, simulclass, coliseum, export power transformer, graphic EQ?

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

As an owner of two mark IIC+ (and a IIB loop modded,a Mark III RS and ex-owner of a IVB and JP-2C) I think that this will never happen, for two reasons: 1) Mesa is adamant on the fact that having so many knob and push and pulls is counter intuitive for the average user. They prefer to give you...

    IIC+ mod to Quad?

JUST WOW, I wish I had the skill to even do half of this! Instead I'll be happy enough just to ge the "static" changes to CH1 if you happen to have the schematic for the "dynamic C++" mod to be added on top of the schematic you have already shared, let me know, I'll ask my tech if he can do...

    IIC+ mod to Quad?

Damn, now I have to ask you what is the master pull that you have added!!! :) :) which part of the mod is switchable? it didn't look like there was any in the pics! BTW your quad seems to be stereo modded? i.e. left channel CH1, right channel CH2? wow again :)

    IIC+ mod to Quad?

thanks JD, if you happen to have any youtube video with the mods let me know, I'll gladly hear them to check out the final result. I will for sure apply the mods to CH1. Regarding CH2 I'm hesitant, I like it the way it is, especially the RHY 2 without GEQ is good IMHO for fusion, bluesy stuff...
