    NGD - LTD Eclipse EC256

What a great guitar for $500. Played great right out of the box. I was looking for a backup guitar, and something I could take to unknown locations for jams and gigs and not have to worry about my Gibsons getting stolen. I was going to go with an Epiphone LP, I’m a single cut guy, and...

help with mark v 90 tone

Which one, vertical, horizontal or compact? They all respond differently and have different perceived tone, especially the 2x12 which has a speaker pointed up at your ears. Dom

    Welcome -

Welcome to the forum! The DC Amps are great, lots of good info on this board. If you don’t have a copy I suggest you download your amp’s manual. It’s full of information on using and maintaining the amp as well as great sample settings...

Rectoverb 50 6L6 tube and speaker discusson.

All my amps (except the TC100’s) are modded for adjusting the fixed bias point, and I prefer my Roadster at about 50% idle plate dissipation. I know plenty of guys with Rectos that are totally fine with stock bias settings. Again, an opinionated view. Mesa designed the Rectos to have a clean...

    3 New Mesa Rectifier cabs

I’d say we’re ’Modern Rock’. Here’s a clip I recorded at home, it’s my Roadsters in stereo, no processing in the DAW. Here is a couple of tracks from our last CD, Roadster with a Recto 4x12 with V30’s. Dom

Rectoverb 50 6L6 tube and speaker discusson.

As far as tubes, I agree that the preamp really sets the tone of the amp, especially with most of these ‘modern’ designs. While power tube choice is as opinionated as Dunkin’ Donuts vs Starbucks, I would say they tweak the overall character and feel of the amp, with the latter being most...

That looks like the circuit. Is that on a separate pc board over by the power transformer? Yes, that yellow wire’s connection point seems a bit shoddy, I can’t tell if that cap failed or if it was burnt from the soldering iron. Dom

V1 & V2 use DC heaters which share the rectification circuit with the pilot lamp. My guess is that there is a failed diode in that circuit. Dom
