Yea that would seem to be a good choice to start with. Gibson is pretty keen on the limited reissue run deal ie: Les Paul reissues, gives them a chance to evaluate the market and then do another limited run later with some other marketing spin. I'd go out on a limb and say pretty much a given...

So the rumors of a limited run IIC+ reissue seem to be pretty legit. But if the run is limited to say 200 would you still go ahead with yours?

I've stained alot of pine and doug fir but never have used tung oil. However I don't think that sanding in between coats is required. This link is pretty good to follow. Tung Oil on Pine

Cool, tung oil is a nice look with pine. If that is the case the conditioner is not necessary. The only issue is applying it evenly and that is just an issue with experience. Practice on a few test pieces and you'll be good to go. :)

What type of color are you going for? Pine is a soft wood and can take stain unevenly. May want to try a wood conditioner first and that allows a more even distribution of the stain. Test pieces are critical. That looks like a Rawcabs shell. If so, I'd ask Reggie to send some pieces to test on.

FWIW... Badlander, 6L6s and the WB 1x12 G12-65 was most excellent. Sat great in the band mix. I can't help but tweak $#!t but this setup is a solid one for sure.

I was ready to swap back but when I fired the rig up again it sounded really good, so I'm delaying the swap for at least one more band rehearsal.

I've been bouncing back and forth between getting a Scumback H-75 or a Redback to pair with a C-90 or a Heritage G12-65 in my Recto 30 horizontal cab. How does that compare to the v30s with the BAD? Very interested in that take :)
