Has anyone had this happen to their Rec?

Try Mullards. They're not as harsh as the Tung Sols...Great texture and harmonics, very responsive...

    Mesa Dual Recto Bias Question

I've been running EL34's purchased from eurotubes that are rated for the recto...but I was also running a set of KT88/KT66's in the 6L6 setting...

    Mesa Dual Recto Bias Question

I understand that most mesa's, including the Mesa recto's, are fixed bias. Can the recto be re-biased? If not, how can you switch from fixed-bias to self-bias? I only ask because my tone is sterile and dead. It sounds good but not as good as I've heard some say that it could sound if it's...

    Has anyone ever tried this....?

I've tried this with great results! Go for a Genalex Gold Lion KT77/Mullard EL34 integrated quad! Try some different preamp tubes as well...my favorite preamp tubes(at the moment) are a TungSol/Mullard mix...they compliment the EL34/KT77 sound very nicely! But that's my opinion...I play hard...

Dual Recto Mods -- Any suggestions, tips, advice?

No offense was meant! And you're exactly right, I don't want to ruin my amp...but my drummer is an electronics wiz, so I was hoping there was a secret someone could let me in on...I don't want to drastically change the tone. It sounds awesome, but there are some minor tweaks I'd like to make or...

Dual Recto Mods -- Any suggestions, tips, advice?

I'm looking to do some mods on my 2001 Dual Rectifier 3-channel head, but I want to do it myself... 1. The gain is so fuzzy after 2:00, so I want to clean that up so that I can use 100% of the gain and retain clarity even when maxed. 2. The mids don't sweep enough. I want to have that sweeped...
