    AxeTrak vs. mic'd Roadster clips

I liked the miced clip, but I didn't really care too much for the AxeTrak. I just posted a thread about silent recording with my F-100 that may be of interest to you. If you have a moment, check out it out: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=6527

Mesa F-100 Heavy Clips - Silent Direct Recording

Last week, I finally got around to putting together some direct recordings of my F-100 using a Hot Plate and PODxt Live. I posted a thread about it here: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1367180 The results were encouraging, but I was getting a lot of high...

PLEASE HELP!!!!! EASY FOR YOU MESA GUYS

Mesa states that the mismatch of one direction (8 => 16, 8 => 4, etc.) won't damage the amp, and may be a tone you prefer. The tubes will wear faster. You'd have to consult Orange to see if the transformers can handle the mismatch. Since you haven't had any problems, you're probably fine...

Rectoverb vs. Mark IV vs. F50

Thanks Micah! My singer uses a Mark IV short head into a 1960A. It sounds sweet and really fills out our sound.

Roadster 2x12 combo - speaker ohm rating

From the pic of the backside of the Roadster 2x12 it seems to be a 4 Ohm load: To me, that's an unfortunate design choice. It would have been better to use two 16 Ohm speakers in parallel for an 8 Ohm load. That way, since all of Mesa's cabs are 8 Ohms, adding a 2x12 cab would be easy...

PLEASE HELP!!!!! EASY FOR YOU MESA GUYS

Most 1960s can be run at 4 Ohms mono. Plug a cable from either of the 4 Ohm jacks on the Rectoverb into the 4 Ohm mono jack on the 1960 and you'll be good to go with matched impedance. You could run the 8 Ohm output into the 1960 set for 16 Ohms mono, but you would loose a bit of bass, treble...

Rectoverb vs. Mark IV vs. F50

Congrats on the new amp! It's one of my favorites of all time. Check out the settings I posted for your metal tone needs on the lead channel. :)

Rectoverb vs. Mark IV vs. F50

Micah, these are the settings my friend Ralph (gainfreak) uses who's well-versed in the Mark IV and ultimate tone search. Yes, for a tight sound, the bass should be off or almost so, and the mids should be three (3) or less. As far as the picture, I made it from scratch as part of my graphic...

    Mesa F-50 Combo Questions?

It's not that big of a deal. Leaving it on Standby is better than multiple on/off cycles which can prematurely shorten a tube's lifespan. Just use your common sense. :)

    Mesa F-50 Combo with HOTPLATE?

For going direct, I much prefer a Hot Plate on my F-100 over using the recording output. This setup is similar to what I use, except with my F-100 in place of the Valvetech VAC 22: The beauty of this setup is I get post power amp FX from the XTL and I have many different cab sims to choose...

Do you mean like this: The diagram above I did from scratch. If you're looking to just see some rigs, check out www.guitargeek.com. Beware of the owner's Copyright grumblings however in copying any of his work to make your own rig. Here are a few more examples of my work:

Sacrilege! Replacement knobs for the Tremoverb/Rectifier?

I doubt the Fender knobs are too short. Mesa uses the same pots on practically all of the amps, so the new knobs should work the same way. BTW, cream or white chicken head knobs may also fit. Also, even if the internal dimension was a bit short, you probably wouldn't notice when the knob is...
