Need Quick buying Recto advise !!!!!

Well, I love my new/used tremoverb head, and can't figure out what I would play that it won't do. I don't play much heavy metal, mainly heavy blues to AC/DC sounds and it is great. But there seem to be several TOVs on ebay right now, at pretty good entry prices.

James Hetfield's Recto Tone- how does he get it?

+1...............Now that's what country music SHOULD be! :D

http://www.thetubestore.com/ Try here for pricing...not bad. But, I'm not sure you need to retube unless it doesn't sound right.

A n00b and his quest for an amplifier

Way to go! You made the right choice. Of course, everyone here wants you to get a Mesa, but all in good time....you've got a guitar you like and an amp that will get you through to the next level. Just keep an eye out for used Mesas when your ready for the next GAS plunge! 8)

A n00b and his quest for an amplifier

Nobody on this forum will disagree with the fact that tubes sound better than SS, and I wouldn't want to tell someone to get something they don't want. So, following clutch71's post: I got my Dual Rec Tremoverb w/ a 212 rectifier cab, a Hot Plate and top line speaker cables as a package on...

    Couldn't take it anymore!

Congrats on finding something with the sound you love. I think you will be enjoying the amp for some time to come. The guy at the store was right, you don't see them on the market very often. I won't be getting rid of mind for decades, now go take the wife to dinner....

A n00b and his quest for an amplifier

50w is still hugely loud in a house, and an attenuator will hardly get a recto running at 1/2 power (50w) with a 212 cab, down to 'bedroom levels' . I agree with everyone else: these really aren't bedroom equipment...they don't go low enough. Get a nice Epi LP or something with some...

    Power attenuator with my DR?

Yeah, I have one and it works, to a degree... The more attenuation you use, the more it sucks tone; but you are able to get the kind of distortions you get when pushing the amp. To keep from using it too much, I pull two power tubes and one Recto tube from my DR TOV head when practicing, then...

    Tremoverb Footswitch?

Is there an after market footswitch that will change channels on the Dual Rec Tremoverb head? Like a Boss FS-5U or FS-5L switch or something else?

    HERES MY SETUP

Wow, nice rig! If you made those grill covers match, you would have a skyscraper of tone, man... 8)

    Post your Rig!

Guys, I didn't have stereo in mind when I put this together. I bought the amp and a 212 together. Originally my plan was to buy a head then get a 412. So I just added another 212 to basically get a half stack. Now, I have a scalable rig when doing small stuff, which is most of the time...

    Post your Rig!

Well, so far I'm not. This is the first time I have had two cabs and would like to look into it, but don't really know what I need or how to do it. Since I will be keeping them stacked it wouldn't really be for the stereo effect, but from what I hear it adds something to the sound when run...

My 1st Mesa: Tremoverb head + Recto 212s

I just got the 2nd 212 recto cab today! Originally, I was going to buy the head, then get a 412, but I bought the TOV together with a 212, so found a good deal on another cab on the 'bay and it just arrived. Nice tight low end with lots of 'presence'...lots of air to push. I like the fact...

My 1st Mesa: Tremoverb head + Recto 212s

Hi, I am new here, just got my first Mesa this week. It is a dual rectifier tremoverb head and the serial number is R-003756. I am told it was made around '95. I got it with a recto 212. It is a very clean looking and great sounding rig. I play mainly blues, classic rock and some heavier...

Anybody ever filed a UPS damage claim?

UPS SUCKS............... I'm a newb here, and haven't had experience with destroyed instruments. But plenty of amps have come to me from the store that look like they have been in the shipping loop for months! I am an artist first, and have had experience with UPS destroying paintings/frames...
