Which "Marshall" pedal works best with the mark V?

I've recently discovered and love the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret for this. Into the clean channel set to "Fat"

    Balanced volume across the channels

Amp is back. All is good. Like the tech said.. no issues. I can balance channels easily. I have no idea why I perceived it differently that caused me to have them have a look. All would have been solved if the store had one on the floor to compare to but unfortunately they didn't...

Thanks! I should get the amp back Thursday night. Will give the settings a try.

    Balanced volume across the channels

Thanks for the information. I believe those things were eliminated by me at home and also when I tried it at the store with an amp sales guy. Having others post settings that they find balanced would help. I'll check the settings thread I guess.

Taken my UK Mark V head to Canada

Personally I would just call Mesa/Boogie customer service and ask. They will help you out. I also found this thread: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=603373

    Balanced volume across the channels

Hi everyone. I recently got the impression that my channel 1 suddenly got way quieter than 2 & 3. One night.. I had what I thought were 3 balanced volumes across the channels. The next morning it seemed CH1 got way quieter. Took it to the shop and we replaced pre-amp tubes, nothing changed...

I believe that was me. Axe + behringer FCB1010 + midi/usb interface is sold already. QSC K12 is on the block.

HA. No worries man. I don't care :)

Yes clearly you need something to amplify it. I think the statement said "power amp" and then later said monitors (which some may have thought a method to amplify it.. PLUS some other monitors)... it should have said: Powered monitor/speaker OR power amp + speakers.

    I'm back. NAD

Yeah you don't need monitors any more than you need them with a regular mic'd amp. You need one power amp setup as a minimum. Guys... the Axe Fx is the BEST WAY to get a setup with tons of amps/cabs/effects, if that is your thing. There is no better way (aside from owning 30 amps, 10 cabs and...

Hey Hendog... did you go off and try other stuff as well? If so, what? (If you don't mind me asking.)

    I'm back. NAD

Had Mark V combo... got crazy and sold it off and was trying a Fender with pedals. Missed the Mark V. Attempted to fill that void with an Axe Fx through an FRFR (The Axe Fx is an AMAZING piece of gear... it's truly awesome. it does SO MUCH and sounds REALLY GOOD.) Still missed the Mark V. I...

****. Mark V out for repair already

Well the Mark V head that L&M got in exhibits pretty much exactly the same noise as mine. I guess this is the way it is. Completely unnoticable in band situation... but in my soundproof, deadened room where it is dead quiet, I can hear it. But not over the hum of the little PA I've got in there.

    mark v noise

I had purchased a combo and was worried about the noise too... even had it checked out by Mesa repair center (Yorkville sound, who said everything was fine.) I was going to send it back to Mesa, but before I did that, I went with my combo and A/B it with other mesa (they didn't have a mark V)...

    Canadian Mark V? (Update)

About $2400 for either head or combo. Not sure where you are located, but L&M Markham and also North York should have one or two sometime in the middle of December.

****. Mark V out for repair already

I did try plugging directly to a cabinet instead of the combo speaker, same noise. So, here's what I ended up doing. Went back to L&M (Long & Mcquade).. with the Mark V. Decided I wanted to do some comparisons with other amps before taking mine apart and sending the chassis back to Mesa. It...

Can you fellow owners run a test for me?

I recorded it. All knobs on all channels at 12 o'clock position. All switches in each channel in the middle, except CH3 is in extreme mode. EQ, Reverb OFF CH1 Normal/thick : normal CH2 Normal/thick: normal CH3 Normal/bright: normal Starting setup: effects send set all the way OFF, nothing...

****. Mark V out for repair already

I got it back. I would say it is still noisy. Repair guy did do something in the reverb circuit, but I find CH1 a bit noisy even without reverb on. I'm going to record some clips of it and post them. If any of you can mic your amps and do a quick noise test on CH1 I'd love to hear the clip...

****. Mark V out for repair already

Yorkville Sound guy said he DID find something in the Reverb circuit. Said he fixed it and it's sounding "better". He did say that the reverb on CH1 was turned all the way up.. but I distinctly remember turning it down... maybe I did it wrong! We shall see. There's nothing more he...
